...and I'm realizing now that one of those shots I included seems to do a really good job of showing that "Center Seam" you mentioned (that goes from Under the Yoke Flap down to where that "pleat" is) Jameel

Just re-watching Blade Runner (again) and saw something I hadn’t noticed previously and wanted to mention it as a point of interest
When Deckard get out of his car at The Bradbury Building at the start of the Final act of the movie, he’s wearing his trench coat buttoned-up (with the collar flipped up and buttoned) and the belt tied tightly around his waist…
I'm sure everyone knows that part
But for several seconds while he’s turned away from us (and facing away from the camera), you can clearly see that the bottom part of the Back of the trench coat has a sort of stitched “pinch” of the coat material
It sits at the top of Ford’s butt (just under where the belt rests)
It’s sort of a Pleat-type of gather (I don’t know what else to call it), but it starts Where the beginning of a slit would be IF that’s what it was … but it’s not.
Instead, it seems to be designed to pull together some of the roominess of the back of the coat …
but if it’s considered a “pleat” then it also seems to be the Only one back there
I've included 2 shots that were the best I could do to capture it
Jameel, is this the sort of thing you’re looking to do?
Thanks![]()
When I made my sample I didn't know about it, one of member shared some solid references here, and I rewatch movie and notice it.
You can see clearly when Deckard meets to lady first time and he walks slowly so coat back center seam clearly visible.
Here are more images for reference.
Interesting thing is no one knows about it before although 40 years gone.
I very thankful for everyone who sheared their thoughts, information.
Loving all the detective work on this.
I'm torn! I wanna see one if you guys in one but I'm also the type to keep going so there's no need for a revision in the future. First world problems, hahahaIt's so funny because I'm the opposite. I'm like, enough already, mystery solved. Start sewing.
