New retooled Revell Cylon Raider

I worked with them on the re tooling and you will be more happy with the Viper and Base Star. Sad to say Hobbico canceled the NEW BSG line. We were gearing up for the mk II Viper and then they bought in and out the NEW BSG line went.

Placed my vote!!

Are you sure they are the ones to have the kits? Cause after looking at the site I didn't see any model kits!!

Before Hobbico took over they were poised and ready to buy the rights to do the kits. I supplied them with data to help sell the deal. The new owners are like all the rest. No time for Sci Fi.

That's correct. The agreement was this, to re tool the three and if they sold well they were going to allow us to make a new Galactica! More accurate in every respect.
It's too bad Sci Fi builders are not taken serious at all.

It's like compmanies don't even care that we will cut out organs to fund the stuff we really want. It's not like we're asking for cheap stuff. Has Hobbico even heard of Fine Molds?

Has Hobbico even heard of Fine Molds?

FineMolds is run more like a garage kit manufacturer - albeit with injection molded kits. They treat the actual process of making kits as more of an artform and they choose subjects that are obscure but have a personal appeal to them. The fill a niche in the 1/35th Japanese Armor range. As for their STAR WARS stuff - I suspect their licensing agreement only covered a limited run and a limited area - and that's the only way they can afford it. The fact that we in the states (and Europe) can get the kits has more to do with 3rd party distributors - but I'm willing to bet the agreement doesn't allow for specific sales to US distributors.

BUT, if any company were the heir apparant to create new tools - my vote would be for FineMolds.

Hobbico is first and formost a distribution company not a manufacturer, buying Revell/Monogram for its vast tooling catalog,to get the most on their investment and spending little on their return. If we see new tooling from Sci-Fi subject matter,it will be because we-the consumer demand it.Money is power here in the U.S.Alexander

So if the three being retooled do well will the galactica be done or not based on the purchase of revell/monogram by hobbico?

I plan on purchasing a few of the new kits based on the early pics of the retools... If it will get me a Galactica retooled from scratch... I'll buy a few more ;) ...and poll my friends to do the same...

There will be no guarantees. The volume of sales on classic Galactica would have to be enormous to get the attention of Hobbico.

I hope it really happens though.

Done, wheeee!
