Done / Completed Metal fifth element ZF-1 upgrade kit for Jake's kit

hey guys,
can't resist showing you because I'm so happy that this part is finally done and perfect! but I didn't make good photos, so I'll do more tomorrow with the camera :)
I hope you'll like it, this was a part that was worrying me from the start :)

ahah. damn Jamesfett! I almost started printing missing posters today as you did not like or reply with a meme to my previous message! don't do that to me man! I was worried!

ok, for the next milled pieces, I need to do a few 45° angles on the parts, the mill head can rotate theorically, but don't get me started on that, I lost about half a day trying to figure that out, that mill is an amazing addition to my tools but it has so many misconceptions, it's crazy! I'll need to take some time to fabricate a few improvements for it if I can because it's pretty bad in some places.
very basic stuff, for instance, the protective screen doesn't have enough clearance to go around the precision depth module on the right of the motor, here I removed the inside sliding piece of the screen to try to gain some room but it is still not enough. this is something that would have taken a second to fix in conception, but it will take me half a day to try to fix it myself now... that's just an example of a simple issue, but it has much bigger conception issues in several places.

anyways! I guess I got myself started on my own in the end... sorry!
so I was saying, I needed to do 45° angles, so I milled a small V shaped holder for the pieces:

that makes things easy and quick to use!

here are the "triangle" rocket holder pieces being machined (#13 on initial plan):

and... I think it has been a while since I showed my router table full of parts for that run :) :) it is starting to be a real mess :) :)

cheers guys :)

Please correct me if I'm wrong, you did all the machining by hand current? Your lathe and milling machine are not computer controlled.

that is correct, all by hand!
there is only an automatic longitudinal feed on the lathe. that is to make a clean cylinder shape, for instance, the back of the ice cube system.
everything else is all done by hand :) I think I'll make a small recap in the end on how many parts, how many holes, machining opperations. it is a huge huge project!
thank you for your continued support all along MandoJedi, you guys support and nice comments is what makes me happy everyday :)
cheers

Eethan to do list in metal:

Blade Runner concept back up blaster. Maybe Joatrash can make the grip from his amazing resin build.

Qui Gon/Obi Wan Prequal Jedi Communicator, Holo thingy, and Breather.

Babylon 5 Marcus Ranger fighting pike. Both Extended and collapsed.

Book of Eli Machete (I have a perfect blank I can send you as a template.)

Mandalorian Helmet

Mando knife.

Mando back up knife

Mando rifle

Biker Scout Blaster Body. Warmachine makes a perfect singlepoint scope so you just have to make the main gun body and handguard.

Thunderball Bond Breather. Russ Rep makes a perfect Die Another Day one, but we need a Thunderball one.

Leia saber. No, not the TROS one. This one.

More to come so when you are done with the ZF-1 kit if you could get on these I would appreciate it. (y)

If I may add one little project to JamesFetts list... A life size fully articulated t-800 endoskeleton!

Okay,..you talked me into it. I'll take one.

I was doing so well at one point I almost got the 1/1 Sideshow Endo. Things turned so it did not happen. Man that would have been sweet.

The Sideshow t-800 is nice but eethans' would be hand machined out of aluminum! I'm sure he has more than enough time on his hands to get it done say by the end of 2022...

I did not know you were doing the rocket base, or I forgot. This is great as I bought the rocket kit they used for the film.

yep! quite a complex part as well! but I wanted to do all the assembly of blue parts :)
I think the actual rocket kit should fit my support (my tube is 32mm). but you'll get the cardboard tube from the kit if you use that. my best advice will be to use my aluminium tube with the rocket from the bought kit as well as the original stickers :) should be a perfect match to the flame thrower version from propstore.

hey guys,
here is a quick update with the almost finished rocket triangle support :)

note the exact detailling on the holes, bevel on the upper hole and large hole/bevel/smaller hole on the bottom hole :)
sorry, I didn't think to take a photo in a somewhat similar angle to the ref!

I hope you'll like it

I'm having a tough time finishing that project with all the details there is to do and that I want to do perfectly but I'm working on it everyday and trying my best not to delay it too much!
thank you for your patience and I hope you'll all think it was worth it when you get the pieces in hand :)
cheers
