What struck me was instead how much Devon Michaels looked like Leonardo DiCaprio, both as an 8-year old kid and grown up.
It reminded me of the rumours from the early 00s of casting Leonardo DiCaprio as Anakin in Episodes 2 and 3. It has since been revealed that George Lucas had offered the role to DiCaprio but that he had turned it down.

Predictably Kathleen Kennedy and that Acolyte showrunner are out ahead of the show premiere calling out male fans as toxic. I mean I always thought modern SW wasn't really bad, it was just the evil male fans, but I thought it was just me! Huzzah! They found a way to save the franchise! 
Every time they do this stuff they trot out a few of the actual toxic comments and decry all criticism as toxic male fans and "attacks" and don't ever address the real criticism. They apparently don't care and don't care to address that probably half or more of their fan base is totally checked out and doesn't care about new SW any more. I think SW is really done guys. Thank god for the first two trilogies, old books, games, etc.

If they were smart they would say there are no toxic fans just Chinese bot farms spreading negative comments. I'm pretty sure they're thinking they actually believe these things. Think about Kennedy's pedigree. She and her husband Frank Marshall have worked closely as producers and executive producers alongside Lucas and Spielberg for over 30 years.
So who are we to question the quality of her work, including her showrunner and director choices? We fans are peons, we know nothing, so it clearly must be our fault. So we must shut up and eat our Acolyte.

Whether they get a begrudging audience, or a willing one, they just want views. Even low ratings are still ratings, and they can cook the books after the fact about viewership as we've seen in the last few years. Either way it's a win for them.

That's fine, so long as you understand that the President of Lucasfilm has already judged you.
I don't think they seriously believe a big percentage of people can be insulted into watching their crap. I think this stuff is mostly a face-saving effort. It's personal butt-covering. They are trying to control the narrative about why their crap failed.
You don't see much of these comments coming from the top creator types (Ridley Scott, Lucas, Spielberg, Cameron, etc). Why bother? They aren't interested in the PR side. They spent their careers sinking or swimming based on actual results. How would it have helped George Lucas to create a narrative about why his own movie failed? He still owned Lucasfilm in the end.
Kennedy got to the top by climbing the corporate ladder. As long as a corporate climber keeps their job it means they nagivated the incident successfully. It doesn't matter if the company lost a billion dollars as long as the blame is pointed elsewhere. That's their deeply ingrained mindset.

It’s a pre-emptive self defense for when the show does poorly and to combat actual criticism. That way, they can claim it wasn’t their fault the show does bad because of the “toxic fandom.” They’ve been doing it since the Sequel Trilogy.
KK and everyone else at LucasFilm/Disney understand how fake the online backlash is. This boomer method of trying to get sympathy views from people is the last attempt to salvage what they know is not good.
In reality the only reason they care about women and star wars is because somewhere someone said one day
"ya know if we can get women into star wars, we could double our sales because that's twice the amount of people watching"
