I've released my Ark of the Covenant 3d Files

Silver coat is down. Whatever you do, don't use rust oleum primer. What complete junk. Between that and me not letting my paint dry i have some blemishes on the MDF surface. Not sure I would ever use MDF again either. Oh well live and learn. Hopefully once the lids on and it's in the crate they won't even be noticeable.

A little late. Lol
Not really. After catching up on this thread it appeared people were looking for the best reflective gold chrome option, and as some of the pictures of built arks in this thread had a duller gold finish, I thought I'd share what I found which looks to me to be the ideal solution short of having a model completely chrome vacuum plated which is obviously quite cost prohibitive.

So yeah, YOU ARE WELCOME :lol::lol:

Probably won't be finished till my next weekend off. But it's coming along.
Oh Hell Yeah!!
That looks great. You must have an ear-to-ear smile and proud as hell. Congrats all the way man. That finish is nice and reflective. That will look outstanding in your display area for sure. Need to see those final resting place photos when you set it up.

You should get some LED remote controlled wireless lights to hide under the ARK to cast some really cool lighting effects. I specialize in lighting for a living. I'd help but I'm way down here in Florida

This 20-dollar set will do it, changes colors too with remote.

Yeah man!! Amazon has some strip lighting in remote form as well. Has battery packs so you don't need to run wires and in a darker room, they really look great and don't overpower the surroundings. Can't really help on smoke unless maybe you use some incense

I am currently playing with finish techniques myself. Exploring the tinted candy in the clear to achieve the gold. I am a long way off so I have plenty of time. Still in the beginning stages of printing. Thank you for sharing (y)

Bored. Took some pics. Lol
