I've released my Ark of the Covenant 3d Files

Believe it or not
This is actually gold

I love my mini cherubs This just shows the difference in the gold. The photos do no justice, so I needed a comparison shot.
I was going to try the method I used on painting the idol but with an airbrush instead of paintbrush. Fail--but a cheap fail. Already had everything needed with the exception of a 4-dollar airbrush topcoat.

This look was achieved using Spaz Tix ultra chrome, but I added white gold mirror chrome on top of the chrome. Funny thing is, the gold doesn't have the same amount as the chrome. I ran out and this is only one coat. I will order another bottle and give another coat to see how it looks.

Remember, this is for testing. I am not using these cherubs on my Ark.

Completely rough and very little prep time in the pre-finish for these. They're not even close as far as accurate goes. I will be printing an accurate set from the files. I just wanted to play around and get acquainted with the Ark finish

Here's my 1/3 scale ark. At this scale, you can print large objects in one piece. The main box without the legs or lid, is one piece.

The other thing to note is that there is no sanding or painting. At this scale you can print in silky gold. You can see print lines in certain places. But at this scale you can print in high speed AND high quality.

It looks good this way, so should I add some poles? I bought some dowels, but haven't put them on yet. Is it better without them?

Absolutely add the rods. I think it breaks up all the gold, really adds to it (y)

Still adding pieces. Lol
