Limited Run Holocron/Kit

Argh. This project has been like Cold Fusion. I've been a day or two away from shipping for something like four weeks now. First there was a persistent false trigger issue mandated redesign of the sense antenna. Then rainy, cold weather that didn't play well with paint. Then extra hours at work. And now, when I've actually got a completed one in the padded box and a second fully painted one waiting on about twenty minutes of final assembly......I simultaneously tear a calf muscle AND get hit by a nasty bug that's going around. So I can't walk, can't talk, can barely breath, but still trying to hobble into work every day.

And, yes, I'm still a post office visit and (possibly) a lithium ion warning sticker away from posting the first tracking numbers.

I am so sorry for the delays. I should have waited longer to start the official thread (but if I had, I just would have spent another year tweaking the design more and more....)

Gee man sorry to hear about the health issues, you take the time you need to recover, at the end of the day this is a hobby and your health comes first, I am more then happy to wait and would still like to talk options when your ready to start work again on the run... all the best get well...

Absolutely! I'm in no hurry, just worry about yourself, we'll be fine!

Plus I have the selfish underlying motive of hoping you will do a sith Holocron next, so I don't want this one leaving a bad taste in your mouth!

All kidding aside, I hope you a speedy recovery, thank you for the update!

Get well soon! But take your time doing so. You don't need to kill yourself for a hobby (or for work, for that matter).

Here we go (finally):

This is the simplest I've been able to figure to protect the battery during shipping. It will be in the box but separately wrapped (for the fully assembled holocrons; the kit holocrons are a lesser problem).

So when you get it, you have to go through these steps:

SORRY -- this now has an error. The sense cable is now tacked to the inside corner of the Holocron and is plugged into a tail that comes off the circuit board. Much easier to manage!

I have one revised and ready to ship, a second ready within a day or two. Let me know PRONTO if your situation or interests have changed otherwise I will be shipping to the first names on the list that are fully-assembled and going to CONUS.

I'm sadly enough going to have to pull back for now, as I'm on the verge of buying a new house. Will keep my subscription for this thread, hoping I can make the budget available some time soon.

PM sent...

I have taken on other projects and would be happy to wait and be placed at the end of the build list, I would also like to discuss my design option, thanks...

Hrm. Several people have been saying "completed kit" which is semantically ambiguous. I've updated the first-page list to be as close as I can manage to the various in-thread comments and IM's.

For some reason I skipped over most of the first page when I make up the list, so I've edited to include all the nice people I really should have included before. Several people did not specify type, and rather than default to "Stolen A" style I've left those as undefined until I can IM the details from everyone.

The first two people on my shipping list (aka wanting a Stolen A ASSEMBLED and painted and shipped to an address in the continental United States) both have said they are fine with waiting a little, so anyone else with that status please IM me. The first four CONUS shipping addresses I get are going out as soon as I can finish packing the batteries. Then I'll start working from the top on KITS.

Send me mailing addresses for kits; I'm satisfied enough with the assembly to start shipping them out!

I'll try to give precedence to list order and, of course, straight "Stolen A" will ship first, with the variant styles following. I'll be working my way down the list with individual IM to confirm interest and get shipping addresses.
