A couple of years ago I started working on designing and building my own flavor of tricorder in the style of those seen on DS9 and Voyager. The project thread can be found here for more info:
TR-595E Custom Tricorder
I still have a couple sets of PCBs left over from the project and was curious if there was any interest in the tricorder in kit form. This would include everything you need (except paint, glue & filler) for the full build. The completed tricorder has lights & sound, along with an animated LCD display. All electronics would be assembled & pre-programmed, so all you would need to do is hot glue them in place and wire them to the battery. It's also equipped with wireless charging and is compatible with most cellphone charging pads.
As mentioned above, I currently have the PCBs to put together a couple of kits, but if the interest is there I can order more.
Looking at ~$300 per kit.
