I definatley agree about the whole cannon issue! those who are sitting there dissing this photo because of the preds cannon on the left should get a life-like someone said preds are individuals an may have different skills/abilities/preferences!
Yeah, thanks. From 7 a.m. Monday morning until 6 p.m. Friday, I have a "life." So I think it's quite acceptable if I want to dork-out for the weekend. I don't care which side of the character the cannon is mounted to. So long as what is mounted isn't over bearing overkill and fits within the theme of the character.
also for the plums saying the alien looks 5hit - these guys are sfx editors so they're not going to let you see a puppeteres head in the costume in the film are they!! (i couldnt beleave it when i saw people dissing the photo just cause of that!)
What are you talking about? It has nothing to do with puppeteers; it has everything to do with the fact that the Alien costume looks rediculous. I had no real idea of what "over-sculpting" was until I saw that picture. I can believe people were "dissing" the suit because they've obviously seen the previous Alien films, and that is a ******* charicature compared to it's predescessors.
i think the photo and what we have heard from the Strause brothers sounds awesome!! (i.e-going back to roots and prefering P1& alien/aliens)
That's the same horse **** we were fed the first time. Especially about the "going back to their roots" part.
i for one am sick of the "cannon" predator lore.
some on the lair dont like my big red suit because it isnt "canon"...........get over it guys..........
i dropped out of the 501st for a while because "everything" needed to be canon..........that sucks, because it strangles personal artistic flair.
i joined the pred community because preds are supposed to be "individuals"..........case in point:big red.
I agree with you there. Nothing
needs to be screen accurate or "cannon" with the Predator. Each character is an individual, and doesn't need to be a P1 all the time. But my opinion is that it needs to fit within certain parameters. It has to fit in with what we've seen so far. Otherwise it's going to look too "out there" and unrecognizeable as a Predator. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
Secondly, I am not a fan of Big Red, and I do not feel that it's fair that I'm crucified everytime I say so. You have a fantastic suit, and I think it's silly that you get irked just because a few of us don't like the character.
i prefer the look of the AVP predators over the original predators.
the animatic face of the P2 looked waaaay fake in my opinion.
the look of the original pred was flawless (again,my own opinion only)
the AVP predators looked incredible i think.
Yes. I agree the puppet head for P2 was hoakey. But the redesign of the Predator for P2 was nicely executed- making him look even more like a monster. Not an overly articulate cartoon to please the 13-15 year old audience- making it seem more "human."
some of us saw predator in the theatre when they were young & single.
While some of us weren't so lucky, and had to settle for VHS. I am very passionate about the movies that I watch and the characters that are in them, and if I sound like a dick when I raise my voice towards changes that I disagree with, well then. Oh well. That's just my opinion.
then by all means show us all how its done and make a multimillion dollar movie so we can see how you would do it
I will one of these years, and you better be ready because there isn't anyone around today that could play Aragami. I will add my little piece to the Predator mythos... albeit I'll most likely still be living in my Parents house... but nonetheless!!! Just give me a few years.
