Does anyone have the Vader reference CD?

Oh, I meant no disrespect towards the creator of the former reference disk, nor the work put into it... I was just wondering how the creator of that disc could have any claim to something that has since then been made publicly available. Oh heck... I can't formulate it very well... but seriously... does info and pictures have to be cross-referenced with the old disc, to make sure that none of them is on there before it can be used... or am I not getting what you mean?

Yeah, I think we are on the same page. :) I hear what you are saying NHM.

Bottom line is, as Thomas already said, that this probably won't be an issue as a lot of the information on the old CD is now outdated... and I know this personally because I have the old CD. I don't think this new project will impose on the work done by the person/people who created the last one.

To be clear about things, I am not writing to police anything. I have merely restated some of the history behind the old disc and some of its contributors.

Personally, I think the contents of the old disc simply need to be completely updated and revised with new material for the new one. Even as the old discs were being distributed there were new threads about new helmets and findings being posted. And that was years ago.

There is tons of stuff that has surfaced since then. Those who asked to have their contributions limited actually created the images they submitted. I know that some will probably contribute them again to the new disc effort.

To those of you who have shot your own pictures of costume and prop details or are able to create state of the art screen captures using today's tools, I think these may also be welcome additions to the new and improved collection.

Depending on the level of what the cd actually contains I would be willing to offer rare Dave Prowse pics in the suit, most are primarily on the set of RAII. These pics are from "The Forces Mouth" If anyone has volume 1 & 2 you will obviously have these though.

I'm sure Sith Lord would be happy to use the pics if you submitted them to him.

I have these books and its a shame he didnt have more photos of him in the suit from the movies. Still nice to see him in the suit for the game though.

I too thought these books would contain far more. Not only is volume 1 less than a quarter of the book about his role as Vader but volume 2 has just a small section of Vader pictures that are basically non-movie ones at that :( .

Yeah likewise, when i met Dave last november and bought these from him he was telling me that if he wanted to use official photos in his books he would have to pay uncle george mega bucks for the rights, so in the end he just used photos from his personel collection.

Its a shame for the fans though....

Since someone reactivated this thread :D , I'll just say that I've been spending the last couple of months downloading HD versions of ANH/ESB/ROTJ and plan to include high res screen caps on the Vader reference DVD...so it's getting close to being done....I just wanted to include those as the really amazing reference as they are. So I'll post when it is done and available and it is for all RPF members.

regards,

Thomas

After months of communicating with Thomas about this, I know how much hard work he's put into the project. I really appreciate all of his effort and I can't wait to see the end result. B)

Any updates, Thomas? I'm away from my home computer so I don't have your e-mail to contact you directly.
