How much do you typically water down your acrylic paint to get this effect? Just a few drops or much more watery?

Instead of water I use this reducer

but i use more than a few drops, its kind of like 3 to 1 ratio (more reducer). I use a paintbrush and dip it in the watery acrylic. Then as soon as the brush touches the grooves it automatically spreads in the groove. That's when i know that the ratio is right.

I apply it on the surface as well but use a cloth to remove it, then i add a bit more etc.

I have used different ones from the local hobby store... ill let you know which one im using on the clan hilts. After im okey with the weathering i apply a few light coats of mate clear. I normally use rustoleum for that.

A few updates:

1. The flippable emitter endcap is happening. You will recieve both versions no extra cost.
2. I am naming the KAM saber: "Cerean Duo" and "Clean KAM" for the all polished version.
3. I have finished the basic chassis design that will be tested by Gio shortly.
4. Still working on the advanced chassis with crystal chamber.

The name of the saber comes from Ki-Adi's home "Cerea" and the word "Duo" because canonically KAM's hilt has 2 crystals. For those who don't know in the Geonosis arena battle there was a continuity error where we saw KAM with a green blade then with the normal blue one. Instead of recoloring the scene, Pablo Hidalgo stated that his saber has 2 crystals.

So here is the chassis design for the Cerean Duo. Still long ways to go, it needs paneling and more details but I wanted to have the chamber to be seen by removing the top section.

Hi Yes, they arrived last week and I have started shipping to those who paid in full. I have also started sending invoices. They arrive well and look awesome. I will post a video of the contents tonight.

I apologize for the lack of updates, I have been traveling a lot lately for my day job. But I wont travel again till next year, so things will be back to normal.

One thing i forgot to mention, I included a Static pommel endcap, sound holes are blocked like the resin casts.

It has arrived! The hilt is incredible. Every detail is immaculate. I have included photos of the unboxing and of the hilt with the different emitter rings and pommels. Now I have to wait for the Series 4 pre-orders to begin!
