Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town since friday. Sorry the grooves are anodized, it is easily removed by sanding but they are anodized not painted.
Won’t that make the grooves a different color finish from the hilt then? Bare metal versus the bead blasted matte look?
Might I suggest not anodizing anything black on the future runs so that the accurate black paint washes can be applied? For example, the Episode 1 Mace Windu was offered pure matte finish so weathering could be added to it. Right now I’m debating canceling my order because my hilts won’t match.

My saber came yesterday! Love it! Beautiful work, but a couple questions. Any advice on the best way to attach the LED bar to the hilt? E6000? Some kind of screw?
Also I got the Adi Gallia/Shaak Ti version. So I don't think I'll ever want to, but if I did at some point want to do the Barriss version, how do I convert it? What seems to be there emitter for that version is solidly attached to the radiator rings with no way to unscrew it, and emitter plate on the top of the brass section doesn't screw in if I take the entire emitter (including the rings) off.
Also not entirely sure what the second set of radiator rings are for? The brass emitter portion will screw in but it doesn't fit the main hilt. Again perhaps because what is supposed to be the Barriss version emitter is stuck to the radiator rings?
