A New Star Wars Trilogy Announced

KK will never retire, she will be there until she is 94 years old in a wheelchair drifting down the hallways while puppeteers control her.

You mean like this....

Not a direct comparison, not by a long shot but your comment reminds of these Scriptures in the Bible concerning Israel.

Ezk 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

Ezk 37:2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

Ezk 37:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

Ezk 37:4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

Ezk 37:5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

In a perfect world, yes. Real life back into the franchise, would be an actual miracle. But I feel we will instead get this:

Still saying that I am sure hoping they do it right and I am willing to wait.

My comment was strictly about what the other guy reminded me of in Scripture. It was by no means a signal of what I think may happen to a Star Wars Trilogy. You all know how I feel about that.lol.

I totally ran with it. Reminded me of the exact same section. No one but no one is going to kick this dead horse and get a live one without the very miracle you mentioned. And it isn't happening with this group. Our hope is that they just clean house and get back to the very few that loved SW as kids and are willing to openly reboot back to the original storyline. If you can reboot away, you can certainly reboot back. Which again brings us back to the reason we loved SW to begin with, good vs evil. This pandering to the gray murky evil that was the sisters and attempting to make heros from Sith is a non-starter. Trash it, denounce it and get back to real virtue, true heros willing to "die for what they love".

For whatever reason, I think Bob Iger doesn't have the power to force KK to step down. He seems to be refusing to fund any more of her big projects. He's trying to wait her out until she retires voluntarily. Right now she's trying to gum up the works because Jon Favreau is being moved into her job right in front of her.

That's my read on it.

I can't think of any major new project that KK has gotten greenlit in the last several years. The more recent stuff (like Indy#5 and the Acolyte) were all in development for a long time.

KK keeps trying to do more Rey movies but none of it is coming together. I think it would have happened if Bob Iger wanted it to. Since when does KK care so much about solid finished scripts before diving into shooting? She has a full-blown habit of reshooting everything. But now her latest Rey movie is supposedly stillborn because of script issues. That story doesn't smell right IMO. I'm guessing Bob Iger thinks the project is poop and he won't give her the budget she wants.

Just my speculation.

I think that is exactly what's going on. They can't fire her, but they don't have to renew.

During The Last Jedi, it was announced that Ryan Johnson would be doing a trilogy.

Then the Rey trilogy.

Now this.

Not to mention the Kenobi movie. The Rey movie. The movie in the works from the guy who voiced IG-11 in Mando…

And probably a few that I’ve missed.

You know…does it ALWAYS have to be a “Trilogy” with Star Wars?

(Yeah, yeah…I know, George…”it’s poetry, it rhymes…”.)

What if they just decided to do a “film”?

I guess we will have to settle for the current “Never-Gonna-Seeit-Ogy”…

Do we REALLY want another trilogy to wait 4 year from the 1st to the 3rd? Can’t we do a Solo one and done?

Sadly, the only movie they made that had any characters that I became invested in, they killed them all off at the end.

I don't get it. That we'll get a taxidermied Star Wars?

Yes. Looks like Star Wars but is just the dead skin of Star Wars stretched over KK's framework.

The first reference was kicking a dead horse. The reply was about how the horse was so dead it was just bones. Followed by the example of dry bones being brought back to life and how that miracle was not happening with Star Wars nor Disney. So, I just pushed it a little further to stuffing that dead horse to make it appear alive.... like Disney's use of SW as a skin covering over the bone pile.

I had to choose between Roy Rogers stuffing Trigger the horse and Bullet the dog (which everyone knows is something we don't talk about in polite company knowing Roy was sad but wrong) and a reference to silence of the lambs with, "It rubs the lotion on its skin..." another skin covering example that is sick and wrong (a reference to Disney telling our OT heros to say the lines that destroy themselves and their bond to us or not be included in the film). I chose Trigger. It's still just as twisted or as Roy said to Rose, "Save what you love."
