4' (AKA 5 foot) Falcon build

Finally have the basics for the lower rear deck completed. It's just sitting in place at the moment, not glued down. I'll do the majority of the flat plate greeblies and armour plates while it's off the model. The gun platform is also just sitting in place.

I also still have to trim the dome along the inner diameter near the 'engine grill', but need to determine the dimensions of that first.

By the way, if anyone knows what the white diffuser material was that was used to cover the engine lights, please let me know. I'd like to use the real stuff if I can find it.

Lorne Peterson said somewhere that he used frosted glass with excellent heat resistance so as not to melt with the heat of halogen light, but I don't know what the real thing is. I also want to know.

Thanks. I'd not considered the heat of the lights, I keep forgetting they used halogen in the 70s. That rules out the plastic fluorescent diffuser I thought it was.

By the way, it seems that this milk glass and halogen light could be removed because it was necessary to insert the fixing device from the back of the Falcon during the shooting.

And I think this part was scraped off so that the fixing device would not interfere.

Hi there.

This is the starboard side of the lower rear deck. Does anyone know of, or have, a photo of this area from the port side?

thanks

Thanks. Yes, I have that. I was just trying to see what parts of the formula one car body, up against the Sheridan part, that were left on the port side. I'll leave them there until I find a photo that shows them removed.
