1/350 Botany Bay

Wow! You really work fast - that paintjob would have taken me a weeks worth of weathering... It looks GREAT!

Thanks. Actually the paint job wasn't as hard as it seems, I went to the hobby shop and got some photo etching for HO scale trains, and used those as templates to go all around the ship with my airbrush. The photo etching cost like $3. So what looks like panels etc that would take days took like 10 minutes.

I think I was in on the first run... I got an email that you received my email reserving 3 kits, but never got one that my order was ready. If my set of 3 is ready please send me an email that has your paypal info and I'll get you paid up :cool

Thanks a Ton REL! These are really nice kits at a fine price! - and amazingly FAST!

I must admit that your paint job, Richard, on my Botany Bay REALLY does the job in making it look BIG and ads the realism needed for display! A masterful kit with a masterful paint job sir! :D

Your whole setup is wonderful Kuhn Global. That bluescreen must be huge and your lighting is great making no patches on the screen and ships at all.
Its like being privvy to being on set. Truly fantastic to see pictures like this.

Thanks for the comps fellas! I can't say enough about Richard's kit and his build of it for the collection! He really did an OUTSTANDING JOB!!! :cool I also wish to thank Max as well for his major role in this project as well! GREAT JOB fellas! I know we will see many great things in the near future from this collaboration! :D

Rider, thank you! Since building these beasties for the collection is best left to the professionals, like Richard, Bob, and others, I decided to have fun with the collection myself with photographing it! ;) And FUN it is!!! :D

I now have the proper equiptment to do such a thing... all studio...all the time! LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Anyway, the blue screen you see there is about 10 feet wide and stands 12 feet high. MUCH smaller than real studios have, but still does the job. It is the lighting technique I am working on now. I have the proper studio lighting, but still need to learn it's proper usage. And that of the Camera too! :lol I have much to learn!

I would LOVE to see some composites done with the shots I did of Richard's BB and the MR 1701 together if anyone wants to. I know you guys have done it before with the lessor quality pics of the collection...LOL. I can't help to wonder what great creativeness will come of these shots?..if any, of course. ;) Please feel free to try! ;) :cool
