Worst Costumes and Props

but not it's star character....Dorse, the half dog half horse....

...that thing creeped me out as a kid!

Speaking of creepy...Sparky the Firefly, played by Billy Barty....

Bad costumes, with the exception of Caroline "Joy" Ellis, the entire cast of the Bugaloos...

My vote for worst prop, Witchiepoo's Vroom Broom...

I used to watch these shows all the time, but even as kid with my suspension of disbelief still fully intact, I was still like...WTF?!, watching these shows. :lol

What about these robots from silent running? They didn't even walk, they just sort of waddled.

They had double amputee's inside them.
They predate Star Wars and are thought of as the inspiration to R2-D2.

Not on my worst list. One of the best.

Totally serious. Years ago I had seen photos of the double amputees in the prop receiving either instuctions fom the director or water from a stage hand.

I'm surprised nobody has posted anything from Yor yet. I must say, some things in that movie... they just make you want to gash your eyes out with a spoon.

Couldn't find any pictures, but there is a scene where he shoots a giant bat, and uses it as a hang glider to fly into a cave full of purple cavemen.

If the soundtrack could be counted as a prop, Yor would also definitively win the competition.

I love the film, partly because its so bad :love

Ps: Its the same guy who plays captain america. I also nominate that movie!

Nope. I beg to differ. As robots go, I must give these a nod if only for their break from the typical robot. They were exactly what they were meant to be. Childlike. Approachable. The perfect 'animal companion' for the theme. These are a personal favorite of mine.

The only issue I have with the design is that a sneeze could knock them over...at a ten yard range.

I'm a gun guy, I own almost 50 firearms and seeing Iconic firearms (Like the Mauser c96) always breaks the inner reality of a film just as seeing a Burger King logo.

The worst are the guns in the new BSG, all you have to do is go to a gunstore to buy a hero prop. Star Wars is in second place, it's Saving Private Ryan in space gunwise... I loved Star Wars as a kid as everyone else has and still do..but the guns do slightly annoy me. Please don't attack me, I'm just saying they are obviously WWII guns.

Firefly did a good job masking less iconic firearms like the LeMat, and it was a world based upon earth so making a futuristic version actually makes sense.

Slug throwers are MORE realistic, they do the job, need no power source and are practical. I have no doubt we will use them for the next thousand years and true gun guys like history. Jaynes "LeMat" is like modern "1911" pistols modified with fiberoptic sights, Laser grips, under barrel rails and modified grips allowing double stack mags.

Retro looking guns are already being made today, why would they not be in the future?

Now about firefly having people using AK-47s and MP5's.... Well you can buy Peacemakers being made today and the Luger P08 was made in the US in the 1970s, I doubt the future will be any different. I own a modern Tommygun because it's cool not because it's practical.

Jayne's "Vera" was a prime example of that, or at least of something that wasn't so obviously based on an existing gun and for that matter, the Alliance troops in Serenity had some pretty high tech looking weapons although we never got to see them used.

We got some evil beatniks being led by a bunch of ugly ass aliens.
