What was the last movie that really stuck with you?

Last night, I watched (500) Days of Summer.

I loved it.

From the opening title cards, to Han showing up, the Bergman references, the French cinema references, I loved it all.

It's stuff that every guy has gone through... some of it had me cringing, too (since I've been there).
 
I've seen a lot of good movies in the last few years, but the one that rocketed into my top five, that haunted me, inspired me, amazed me, moved me, that has "stuck with me," was Let the Right One In.
 
Last one that I felt was original and good... book of Eli.

Dont go to the movies much anymore... most movies let me down... most new music lets me down... MAN, IM GETTING OLD!!!

I saw "The Road" recently--really stuck with me---so draining--and depressing. Darker than "Book of Eli"
 
The first twenty minutes of UP, what a hook.

The Third Man. Only watched it once, but I still think about.

Taken, I was really impressed when I saw it this weekend.

My wife really got hung up on Dark Knight.
 
I also have to say I really enjoyed The Wrestler. Often those Oscar fodder films can be over-rated and pretentous, but I think this one earned the hype. Plus, what a great theme song.

Agreed. District 9 for the whole feeling of it (especially the ending) and Children of Men for
the moment when the fighting stops and the soldiers and civilians hear the crying and realise it's a baby.
 
The movies that stuck with me are:
1. Star Wars (loved the designs as a kid and why I got into industrial design/model building)
2. Robocop
3. Fight Club
 
Nothing in recent years has really stuck with me. The last film to really do that was 'Naked' by Mike Leigh. That film has seriously haunted me for 17 years now. The central character, Johnny, invaded my ****ing soul and still won't vacate the premises. For my money, David Thewlis in that role = greatest acting of the last 30, if not 40, years.

Some of the most powerful bits of dialogue in all cinema. Like Johnny's searingly bitter response to Sophie's comment about werewolves howling at the moon:

'It's better than standing on the cheesy ****in' thing! Know what I mean? I mean, tossing all these shuttles and satellites into the cosmos - what do they think they're gonna find up there that they can't find down here? They think if they p*** high enough they'll come across the monkey with the long beard and the crap ideas, and it's: 'Oh, THERE you are, captain! Are you busy, because I've got a few FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS for ya!' Are you wiv me?'
