What was the last movie that really stuck with you?

A few different ways to see this thread. I don't see it as "what movie do you love that has stuck with you?".
I think "stick with you" is usually something that leaves you pondering...usually not something very happy, like witnessing a car accident.
With that being said, Se7en has stuck with me for a while. As mentioned above, Donnie Darko is a good one too. However, Session 9 comes to mind as well.

Good point. I actually meant that. Movies that make you think about it afterwards, whether it be the characters, the story or whatever either b/c it's something you can easily relate to or something horrific and painful or trauma induced, etc. Not so much as "this is one of the greatest movies I've seen", although the paths do cross.

The last one: District 9.

Others that really stuck when I saw them: Children of Men, Donnie Darko, Solaris (Soderbergh), Magnolia, Vanilla Sky, Enemy at the Gates, Everything is Illuminated, Napoleon Dynamite, Almost Famous, Little Miss Sunshine, and more...

And obviously Ep.IV :p

I think that's why I like the film so much :( It's so easy for poeple to relate to the characters. They're not so much characters since it most likely reminds them of their past relationships. Which makes me wonder why it took Hollywood this long to make something like this? I guess they just like the basic "Boy meets girl" structure?
you guys should rent ANNIE HALL. :)

the last movie that really stuck with me.... WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE.

I know it's not technically a movie, but the episode of Band of Brothers entitled "Why We Fight"

Saving Private Ryan

Children of Men

28 Days Later / 28 Weeks Later

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

And I just watched Wings of Desire again.

Wim Wenders = :thumbsup

Indeed... and when they remade it with Nic Cage and Meg Ryan can someone tell me why she needed to be a doctor. If I had the choice between a doctor and a circus trapeze performer I know who I'd chose.

Not to mention them using The Goo Goo Dolls instead of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. :wacko

The last one would be Adventure Land. It helped that it was filmed in places I;m familiar with but I also just really enjoyed it right down to the soundtrack.
I even went on a Lou Reed kick after I watched it.
