Walking Dead Rick Jacket

our help in recreating the jacket on the surface...

I think at this point, you guys should band together and produce your own version...

I'd buy one!

Can anyone sew?

You do realize that you're making companies like this filthy rich? I would gladly support it were it not for the fact that this thing is being milked for the past 8 ffing years. There's no honest reason for this jacket to still be inaccurate after so many years.
razor, is that inaccuracy in the shoulder area contributing to some people having pointed shoulders? it’s a mixed bag from what i hear anymore some people have that problem and some don’t

Hey guys, So i have a request for someone that is willing to do this / already has done it. I would like for somebody to post in this forum a master list of every single nuanced and detailed picture going over slight details of the jacket , dimensions , measurements, oddities about it, EVERYTHING. I will go over it with Fahdi. I’ve become very well acquainted with him and Suzanne. I know that things from here have been collected and posted here before , but ill make sure to get it done with them

Here is a detailed summary of the materials, dimensions, patterns, and other characteristics gathered from the 110-page thread about Rick Grimes' jacket from "The Walking Dead" on The RPF forum:

Materials and Construction

  1. Shearling: The original jacket uses 100% Toledo Shearling, known for its durability. Faux shearling is also discussed, but real shearling is preferred for authenticity (The RPF) (The RPF).
  2. Suede: The suede used is often described as needing to be a darker, smooth, less heavy material (The RPF).
  3. Stitching: The jacket features two types of stitching: a thicker main thread and a lighter/yellowish-brown thread on the inside (The RPF).
  4. Ribbed Fabric: Upgraded versions have improved the quality of the side panels to better match the original UGG jacket (The RPF).
  5. Collar: High collar height and shape are important for authenticity. Adjustments are often made to improve this aspect (The RPF).

Dimensions

  1. Measurements: Detailed measurements for size L and XL have been shared extensively, though specific numbers are scattered throughout the thread. It’s essential to review these to get the correct pattern (The RPF).
  2. Fit: The jacket should not be too tight in the chest area when arms are raised, ensuring mobility and preventing the jacket from lifting too high (The RPF).

Patterns and Design

  1. Overall Design: The jacket design has evolved, with multiple versions being produced. The latest editions aim for closer replicas with improvements in fit and material (The RPF) (The RPF).
  2. Modifications: Some members have modified their jackets to remove front pockets or adjust the collar for better accuracy (The RPF).

Replica Options

  1. Suzahdi Jacket: Known for recent improvements, though feedback suggests ongoing adjustments for perfecting the replica (The RPF) (The RPF).
  2. Magnoli Jacket: Another popular choice with detailed customization based on member feedback and modifications (The RPF).
  3. WhiteSheepLeather (WSL): Preferred for its accurate material under the arms and overall fit, though some find it too rigid.

Another inquiry expands on some of the things listed:

General Description

  • Material: Genuine suede leather for the main body. Some replicas use faux suede for cost efficiency, but the original is genuine.
  • Color: Brown, with variations between light and dark brown across different scenes and lighting.
  • Collar: Made from shearling, which appears flexible and thin. The shearling should be real for authenticity, with a color that ranges from off-white to light tan.
  • Lining: The inner lining is a combination of brown and purple, with some suggesting a mix of red hues. The lining can be quilted for comfort and durability.
  • Weight: The jacket has a comfortable weight, neither too heavy nor too light, allowing for ease of movement.

Specific Details

  1. Dimensions and Fit:
    • Chest: Varied reports, but around 44-46 inches for a medium to large size.
    • Length: The jacket should reach the mid-thigh, approximately 32-34 inches.
    • Sleeve Length: Around 25-27 inches, with ribbed lower sleeves.
    • Shoulder Width: Approximately 18-20 inches.
  2. Zippers and Fastenings:
    • Main Zipper: Antique brass, running the full length of the jacket.
    • Pocket Zippers: Brass zippers for the chest and waist pockets.
    • Additional Pockets: Two waist pockets and two inside pockets for safe storage.
  3. Collar Details:
    • Shape: More curved at the edges rather than squared off.
    • Size: The collar is quite wide, extending down the chest further than many replicas.
  4. Material Under Arms:
    • Stretchy, non-leather material under the arms to allow for better movement. This material should be matte rather than shiny.
  5. Stitching:
    • Thread Color: Contrast stitching with colors ranging from light brown to tan.
    • Pattern: Double and triple stitches as per the original design for durability and style.

There's no need for a blank version. I'll just upload the documents and measurements that I have and you can put your own measurements on top of them:

And here are the measurements of the L and XL: UGG L & XL

okay i sent fahdi all of these pictures, does anybody have a color reference for the shearling? like a HEX Code or something?
I hope they will create a 100% accurate replica now. I did not understand why they didnt already use those M/L/XL Blueprints. Now we have to wait another few months to get the Jacket if they really change their pattern but i hope the wait will be rewarded.

i’m pretty sure they did have the blue prints, they only just missed a few details. I don’t think it would be something that requires a complete overhaul. In my eyes, they were already the majority of the way there

Ah i dont know man, i didnt think that they had the blueprints. There were so many details missing before we helped them.

oh yeah they didn’t have the blueprints when this page was being started almost a decade ago , however within those 10 years i’m sure they’ve had the measurements . With everyone on here messaging them for years about it especially. Which makes it all the more confusing as to why it’s not at 100% right now. and again, this is not me saying it’s bad by any stretch. I think the jacket has come along way and in the current state it’s in it is absolutely incredible.

When they have the blueprints why they didnt copy exactly the measurements of the blueprints and all details? Why are so many things are been missing on their Jackets like every double seam points? This makes no sense for me then if they have everything about the UGG Jacket. Also i writed with fahdi some weeks ago about details and i said to him i have the UGG blueprints and he said that i should send him this blueprints what i did then.

guys, I want to share new photos, plus I want to show the color of the jacket on the street. I don't think you need a "dark version" of the jacket.
