Uncharted 4 A Thiefs End

Thanks for the heads up, I will do it that way instead.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I retook the screenshots via the method RooBee said (thanks again) and the shots turned out much better than before. There's well over 200 images, so I had to split them into 2 albums. You can find them here:

01 - http://imgur.com/a/ArBah
02 - http://imgur.com/a/23lIt

When zoomed in on spreads/notes you can't get the whole thing in the shot, so I did top and bottom shots and was going to splice them together. Unfortunately, Nate's constantly moving around, so I wasn't able to that and have them match up (which is why there are so many images in the albums). I could fix them together in photoshop, but don't have the time at the moment, so hopefully the separate shots are enough, or if someone else wants to try manipulating them to fit together that would be great.

I also included the text of most, if not all, the notes since the script can be difficult to read. I was able to splice those together into one image when required and blacked out repeating text so it wasn't confusing. I think there were 2 pages that had drawings where a note was placed on top. The note makes it difficult to see the actual journal page, but I tried to get it as clear as possible (one has celtic knots, the other has lemurs). Unfortunately I couldn't get zoomed images of them.

The only thing left to mention is at the end of the journal were 2 blank spreads. That's as far as you could flip. If there's anything else let me know.

EDIT: I've also uploaded an album of just the spreads: http://imgur.com/a/1ge5G

Great work, Robert :thumbsup Will do nicely as a template.

For those wondering what color the journal's binding has: I guess it is a normal brown one. I took screenshots of it (man, the PS4 screenshot function is great to use for guys like us...):

I was wondering about the journal itself as well. It is definitely brown, but I'm not sure if it's like the others. I was thinking perhaps he would keep with the same materials and method, however you can see the back of the journal in a cutscene and see there is no elastic straps adhered to it.

Which begs the question, in Uncharted 3 for example, could you ever see the elastic band on the journal during gameplay/cutscenes? In Chapter 4 of Uncharted 4 you're able to pick up the old journals and can see that he's cut the elastic band from the back and tied it around the sides for both 2 and 3's journals.

I'm wondering if it's still supposed to be like the others, and if so why they didn't add the straps to the model? Or if they went no straps to step away from the old games, similar to no belt buckle.

I have a question-
I was trying to get the journal entry that you find on the island when you swing from the spear of the statue into the cave.
Unfortunately i missed the grapple throw and it hooked on to something else and i ended up at the bottom of thr casm.
It auto saved and now i cant get back up to the spear.
Is there a way to get back up there?
Or a way to to access this part of the chapter?
I dont wsnt to play this level for another hour collecting all this junk again.

I missed that at first as well. I think I had already initiated the jump to the grapple point before I noticed the journal entry icon. What I ended up doing was dropping to my death to reload at the top. If you're already at the bottom unfortunately I don't think there is a way back up. I suggest finishing out the chapter and then selecting it in Chapter Select on Explorer so you can run back to that part fast. You don't have to collect everything in one go. For instance, if you happen to miss a single note in a chapter you can just reload on explorer, run to its location, and collect it without collecting anything else and then quit to the menu. Once you get the entry you missed you can just quit to the menu and continue your game by selecting the latest chapter in Chapter Select on whatever difficulty you were playing.

Thanks Lambzilla.

One more question -
Theres an unlockable bonus that says "drakes journal".
Is that bonus a complete page by page of drakes journal or something else?

If it is then i can just play the game and not have yo worry about collecting every journal note ir entry.

Btw, refarding your question about the earlier journal straps being cut off- yes They are cut off.
The only difference is in the previous games the entire strap was gone and just the two slits were visible.
In the new game theres a little piece if strap left on each slit.

Im going from menory so best to confirm.

Thanks for the link. I was literally typing a question about the dimensions and once I posted it I saw that post about what blank to use.

I didn't even realize that was there until RooBee pointed it out, so I can't really say. When I view the journal through the menu it's complete, but I had found everything before I knew that was there. My guess is that it's there to view what you've found for the journal, so entries/notes you miss probably won't be in there until you find them. It may not even unlock until the journal is complete.

I am amazed and quite surprised that ND clearly designed Nate's journal around one of Moleskine's Volant 5 x 8.25 journals. They have 96 pages in total, and Nate's journal totals out 96 pages, minus the 4 blank ones at the end.

You can find them here:
http://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Volant-Notebook-Large-Ruled/dp/8867320513/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1463449123&sr=8-10&keywords=moleskine+volant+notebook

Moleskine sketchbook is the journal weve used for the journsl replicas since Uncharted 2, however the dimensions are slightly off.
Its slightly too tall, but its the best match in regards to shape, cover and binding.
the sketchbook Moleskine also has very thick pages and slightly off white coloring which is perfect.

Im not sure how thick the pages on the Volant are but its seems to have lines on the pages.

You're right, I posted the link to the ruled one. Oops. Here's the plain paper version: http://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Vol...082&sr=8-7&keywords=moleskine+volant+notebook

The original link you posted takes me to the moleskin store where you can select the size and if you want ruled or plain pages, so either link is fine really. Looks like the paper weight for the Volant notebook is 47 lb where the Art Plus sketchbook is 111 lb however.

I believe the Volant was one of the first notebooks I tried to use as a replica and the paper weight is just too thin.

you can almost see whats printed on the opposite side.
This makes for a messy end product when you have two images from oposire sides of the page overlapping each other.
Also if ink is used it will most definitely bleed through to the ither side.

I strongly suggest using the same journal thats been used since U2...the Moleskine sketchbook 111 lb.

Hey guys just messing around with some of the images on the pages. There's probably people who could do better but I was bored so I thought I's give some of them a shot.

Thanks, good shots!
Jeez i didnt realize how massive this journal is.
Its already like 70 pages and im only on chapter 15.

I see another problen ahead.
Considering the amount of journal notes (many of which are folded) its going to be impossible to close the journal once its done.

It's slightly off topic here, but that helps me find a sketch book! I've tried the normal Moleskins that most shops seems to carry and the paper's been too thin and my pens bled through the pages. This is one of the rare times I prefer imperial measurements and I like the the 8"x5" dimension over A5, which living in England reduces my options! So thank you very much, I'll try one of the sketchbook weighted paper instead!
