I’m waiting. They began this right before Covid hit. Prices went up, supplies ran dry.
I’m just grateful that they are making one.

Yep….they could send a man to the moon….but a quasi functioning Tricorder collectible is problematic as it appears.
From a Chris Bernardo blog entry dated Feb 7, 2023 ….”The development has turned out to be very complex… in fact more complex than we ever imagined… and thus it is taking us longer thatn we had planned to develop the tricorder we know you want us to release. I’m sorry that we have to coontinue to ask for a little more patience, but as we keep saying, a little more patience is needed, and we hope to be able to say something concrete soon. However, as software and hardware design is a bit of a dark cave of new and ‘exciting’ trials and tribulations, until we are sure we have something worth saying, we will not be releasing any more information.”
Perhaps it’s a case of ….biting off more than can be chewed?

Ask anyone on the RPF who’s ever done a run, they’ll explain it to you.
Just as a comparison, the main component of the Blade Runner 2049 portable Eye Scanner I did a couple years ago (Teensy 3.2) is still MIA after covid and the latest reports say it might never come back because the controller chips will no longer be made for it in any capacity. So if TWC based their Tricorder code on tech that is in a similar bind, they have a longer road, in having to redo a bunch of things.

I hear ya. I just jettisoned a couple grand for an AMD/RTX laptop for Unreal Engine. Take your time, boys, take your time.
