I hadn’t noticed that the hinge rod is visible. I think what I’ll do is use a gun blueing solution on it. That will blacken the metal rod without adding the thickness that a coat of paint would on the rod.

I never noticed it either. it's not really visible unless you look straight down on it. at least to me.

It doesn’t bother you that sandwiched between 2 thin layers of aluminum, it looks like layers of 3D printed material?

Bait with real aluminum….then Switch to inferior cheapened material.

Last I remember, aluminum isn’t manufactured in layers…. And I’m not convinced yet that it’s even “brushed aluminum”……or the result of a blade edge used on a metal brake for shearing.

Don’t throw in the towel yet….someone designed a Tootsie Pop holder divider 3D print on Thingverse..it’s free …but your still left with having to supply your own Tootsie Pops.
