The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

OK, you were talking about hacks and not an official procedure from TWC. Since you said “I have a suspicion that when the time comes from TWC…”, I thought you meant there would be a convoluted process for updating the software. It will be as easy as plugging in and clicking a button.

If I understood…..

So with the PIP Boy….you plug into its usb-c…then to a pc…then to updates webpage and download the update….easy peasy.

But from the very first update availability, the pip boy usb-c had already been enabled active? TWC didn’t give initial instructions for the end user on their end to enable the pip boy usb-c port?

Nevertheless hackers live for hacking ….it’s a monkey on their backs. They are not going to wait for an TWC update notice.

Correct. The very first update out of the box, the USB port was already enabled for data. No initial instructions other than plug it in and go to the website (website was on plastic film covering the screen). Chris B stated in the blog the Tricorder’s USB port is already configured for data.

BTW, the Diamond Select Medical scanner fits in the Tricorder, sort of. The base is a little to large diameter to fit properly but it fits in and the door closes.

Do you have the diamond select science tricorder scanner to try into the Wand lower compartment?

I hope so. I’m sort of a pessimist. I’m holding out for IGN or Star Trek shop. I’d like to get a second one. They both have first time buyer discounts. I’ve never bought from either retailer so fingers crossed I get a nice discount. I certainly have no intention of paying the outrageous prices scalpers are asking.
Star Trek shop 15% coupon code wouldn’t apply on the Tricorder, I tried.

:(

You'd need two of the larger opening divider to make the science scanner fit. The smaller divider (that would support the acrylic section of the med scanner) is too small to allow the science scanner to sit low enough for the door to close.View attachment 1951341
Confirmed! I was able to download an .stl file of the large divider from elsewhere in the RPF. I don't own a 3D printer, so I found a reasonably-priced printing service in my city and got the printed dividers in less than a week. They work fine.

I also had Avery custom print me a sticker for the butt-end of the scanner, which I designed in Illustrator.

Could you also share the link to the stl large divider you used….thanks
I apologize, but now I can't find the link to the post where I got it. I've searched high and low.

I'd post the actual file, but since I didn't create it, I'm leery of doing that without the maker's permission (and of course I don't remember his handle)

Thanks…I’m on the list for the 2025 run ;)
Same. The scanner will fit in without dividers but putting 2 round foam pads either end may work.
I did it with my Med scanner on the one divider wall and end of compartment to stop it rolling out of the dividers when the trike is angled.
They're secure when stuck on but peel off with ease.

I contacted Chris and he sent me a spare pack of dividers just as a backup but might work out just right if the two larger scanner dividers will hold the science scanner.
