The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

It seems the Venn diagram giving the intersection of people who have the Wand Company Tricorder, access to 3D printing, are interested in creating replacement compartment divider parts, and follow this forum thread is exceeding small. Since there was some favorable response to one of my previous posts I have created all three tricorder divider parts for my own future testing and use. Here is the Left Divider with tabs. According to the Tricorder Updates, the material for the original part is ABS.

For those who want to produce their own design I would point out that some of the divider tabs (in the image provided) have a “stepped” feature. They do not have the same width for the entire length of some tabs. This may be to allow for the prescribed method of installing the original dividers

On the topic of dividers. Anyone with or getting a scanner just be aware that the larger scanner divider that holds the rubber section can mark/dent/scratch the rubber. It's done it to the scanner I have so I won't be putting the new trek classic scanner in there when it arrives.

I'm sure he's as sick of it and anybody else, but he's almost unfailingly polite with the punters. I always admire his ability to do that--I often find myself wanting to throttle some of the attorneys whose "work" I have to fix. Fortunately I work remotely, so they're safe from my wrath. For the moment.

I think Wand wanted to use as many colours as possible. When you switch to prop mode and change the colours to red green and blue the colours are very distinctive but the colours on the main screen depending on which disc you have installed arent the same colour. Status is red but gives off more of a pink, audio is blue but gives more of a purple tint and archive is green but you get more of a lime.

That never happened. Some yahoo posted that it had on the blog based on a rumor on FB. Chris swiftly corrected him. The first 200 tricorders went out to about 175 buyers; the 900 number was pure fiction.

Thanks. It's that kind of news that can impact enthusiasm for various projects. I would avoid using Yahoo as a insult though, litigious times being what they are.

In case these break I suppose, I don't think theres much chance of them fitting a DS. I wouldn't mind 2 sets of spares.

Will the dividers being made be just for the other 2 scanners or are duplicates of the ones Wand supplied being made also?
