The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

From update 26:

"With the reduced tariff how much will my Tricorder cost?

The margins we have on the Tricorder manufacture are already thin and so we are not able to absorb the entire cost of the 30% tariff. As a result the cost of the Tricorders in the US will rise to $415."

If, as is suspected, It is Prime there will be no shipping charges. The only other charge will be state sales tax if applicable.

If the statements from today are true, the 30% tariffs are now permanent.

It still costs $15 a month for Prime so the shipping cost without it is still unknown .

It seems like Chris has “apologized for the confusion” a half dozen times on this issue. How many times does the numbering system need to be explained.
I'm sure he's as sick of it and anybody else, but he's almost unfailingly polite with the punters. I always admire his ability to do that--I often find myself wanting to throttle some of the attorneys whose "work" I have to fix. Fortunately I work remotely, so they're safe from my wrath. For the moment. :p

Amazon shipping should be free, as the cost of the tricorder is higher than their minimum to qualify for free shipping ($35 is what I see).

As I mentioned earlier, you can also pay for faster shipping, if you refuse to wait, any longer.

Could someone with a caliper be a gem and post the exact width and thickness of the strap please. More accurate than a tape measure. Millimeters would be great (y) :)

With regard to the strap. from the Tricorder Updates; Our leatherette strap matches the critical dimensions quite closely at 1350 x 19 mm but is a little bit thicker at 2.4 mm. The example they scanned had a strap thickness of about 1.5 mm thick.

Excellent. Thanks for the info, forgot to look at the TU pages as it's been a while lol. Trying to get a custom leather strap so wanted to be clear on the dimensions.

This is what you get when dealing with us Brits, we're a polite bunch!
Having said that I think the WandCo team must be finding their patience really tested by some people giving them constant grief about the most ridiculous things.
Oh, that's nothing!

When you log onto our system at work (since we all work remotely), there's a huge disclaimer that pops up at the end of the login sequence that says you've logged into a company computer, everything's confidential and privileged, we're watching your every little move, etc. Honestly nothing different from all the waivers and NDAs we all sign at onboarding.

So this one benighted "attorney" (how do these clods even pass the bar?) thought that applied to his personal computer, and he's been pestering us in the chat to double-check with IT that the warning doesn't actually mean his computer!

And here's the punchline--someone answered it yesterday (God bless them for even giving this loon the time of day), conveying IT's assurance that no, it didn't mean we were claiming ownership of his property--and he posted about it again today!

Man, so hard to find good help nowadays. Can't live with 'em, can't exile them to Siberia...
