The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

It's the difference between a company mass producing and item in China and a couple of guys doing a limited run by hand.
I guarantee you I would spend way more than $350 of my time, energy, materials, tools, etc. trying to make one myself.

Yeah I understand that. Still too much for me. If I cosplayed or something that would be a different story.

I don't cosplay very much anymore, though I do have all three Anovos velour tunics and a KerezMan 1st season belt. But there are certain props I've been wanting since boyhood, and absolutely nothing has come close till now. No question my Wand Co. props are the best I've ever had. I'm fortunate enough that I can afford them now, and I'm over the moon that I have them. The Trek Classic scanner is the cherry on top.

I shall live vicariously through you on this one..
.. ;)

Might not be a popular idea but I can’t wait until a lot more of tricorders have made it out into the wild and someone does a youtube vid of a full tear down to see what’s inside. I’d be interested to see but not enough to take my one apart when I’m able to get my hands on one.

I am right there with you. It is one of my favorites, the other is my Constantine Lighter that Lemarchand did many moons ago. It is phenomenal.

Oddly enough, I'm very curious myself--but nowhere near brave enough to take mine apart! From the pics in the previous blogs though, I'm pretty sure it's held together with screws.

Mine just got checked in at Customs. Fingers crossed it doesn't get held up or sent back!

Good luck! :D

My scanner's here and it's awesome, and yes, it fits perfectly in the tricorder, even with the door closed. This will be my last post in this thread about the scanner--anything else will go in the new thread.

Here's the scanner working out of the box:

And here you can see how well it fits in the tricorder:

I took this next one from the back with the access panel open so you can clearly see it fits perfectly with the door closed:

I may have missed it but has anyone tried to see how the medical scanner that came with the Diamond Select medical tricorder fits in the new tricorder?

Another Easter egg! How did you make that happen?
I just kept trying, switching between Ship and Tricorder on the Status screen. They're supposed to come up 20% of the time, but I think it's a 20% chance with each attempt. The first day I kept trying and trying and finally gave up. Apparently they take a while to reset, as if the ship's engineers were working on the problem. I came back to it a few times and it was still there.

During development there was a Roll button on the ship screen that you could press to reset the screen and try to get a ship anomaly to come up. You can see it in the Adam Savage video from last year when Chris was demonstrating it. I guess they got rid of it for some reason before release.

I don't know how many possible anomalies there are, but they had that web page where you could submit one and apparently there was a big response. I submitted two, but sadly I've forgotten what they were and doubt I'd recognize them if they came up.

Sounds like an effort has to be made. I discovered the first Easter egg by literally leaving it alone!
