The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

And speaking of green... erm... tricorders, I finally found a glaring inaccuracy in the Wand product. If I'd known about this, I never would have bought it...

Chris answered my email this morning and pointed out that they have "hundreds of thousands" of products out there with batteries in them, and this literally never crops up. So I'm wondering if maybe it's some new guy at DHL who flagged that particular package for the wrong reason.

Now if only he would update the availability again on Amazon .

Now if only he would update the availability again on Amazon .

He has--they're up to 1,000 or so on Amazon and are in the process of deciding whether to load more of release the next wave of emails. Give them a little slack, they're busting their butts over there and they have a lot of incoming.

Looks like a refund instead of being redelivered.

That figures--just keep your powder dry, allow for tariffs, and they'll be available again.

Hopefully mine will arrive on Thursday, but with the useless and contradictory information I've been getting from Maersk, I'm half expecting to hear mine was rerouted to the moon.

In a reply I just got they indicated they have no idea how many are going to be available or when . Where did you get that 1000 figure from ?

Somebody posted something from Chris. I'll see if I can find it again.

Found it--he posted it yesterday on the blog. I misremembered--he said they hope to have 1,000.

we hope to have about 1000 in play. On Tuesday (tomorrow as I write) we are going to assess the situation again and see where we are. So hopefully close. We also hope to have some feedback from Amazon about the tariff situation and the cancelled /returned orders and what is happening now.

Thanks. You also posted that Wand is busting their ass over this. I have a UK friend who, and this is according to him is totally embarrassed by the way Wand has handled the roll out and says it's a F up on their part .

There are so many factors out of the Wand Companies control.

I think they are doing the best they can, in interesting times.

Was he specific as to what the screwup was? Did he make any comments as to their efforts to fix the problem?

I've seen posts from Chris responding to customers on the blog at midnight UK time on a day when I know for a fact he left DC at 6:30 in the morning local time.

Meanwhile, they have a lot of people carping from the sidelines. That's easy. Try shepherding a complex product through five years of development, through a pandemic and worldwide supply chain crises, and finally tariffs at the moment of rollout. I'm not so sure their critics would be up to the task.

And with all that incoming, they still respond to customers, both by email and on the blog. They're not a big company. So yes, by the level of activity they manifest, and the challenges they face, with as few people as they have, I'm certain they are busting their asses over there.
