A couple things to think about. The tarriffs are not going to be crazy forever. China will need to make a deal eventually. Second this is the wand company. They are in the business of making money not exclusive or limited run items. They ran the communicators until they were in stock consistantly and it seems only stopped when they were sitting on stock and they were available for quite awhile. They still say "sold out but we may make them again". Im betting they make these until its saturated again just like everything else they make. They never have an edition or limited number of anything. They make them until sales slow down like most companies outside collectible limited run companies. Moving special tooling from china to somewhere else is not hard either so im not sweating any of this. Most factories will just pop up in lower tariff countries. Im not touching these for now. If i get one i get one if not whatever. But i think the way the Wand company usually rolls means we will have enough of these. Paying retarded prices right now seems like a bad plan.
Unless, like me, you want it NOW and are willing to pay the tariff...
Oh yeah, there will be plenty. Do not buy from ebay. Someone has already bid over $800 plus $60 for shipping. Don't do it. You will be sorry.
Yeah, and that first auction seller will have a rude awakening if I'm right about the tariff level. It'll eat his entire sale.
Considering Chinese labor and wages and production costs are typically Pennies on the dollar…if you go by the Chinese products sold through Alibaba…
I’m not sweating the tariffs….

Unless I'm correct about the tariff level. According to the federal regulation on the subject, retail price would indeed seem to be the right number in this case, or close to it:
§ 152.106 Computed value.
(a) Elements. The computed value of imported merchandise is the sum of:
(1) The cost or value of the materials and the fabrication and other processing of any kind employed in the production of the imported merchandise;
(2) An amount for profit and general expenses equal to that usually reflected in sales of merchandise of the same class or kind as the imported merchandise that are made by the producers in the country of exportation for export to the United States;
(3) Any assist, if its value is not included under paragraph (a) (1) or (2) of this section; and
(4) The packing costs
