Wow, some people are really going bat-guano insane over on FB about the Amazon thing. They're convinced there's no way TWC can keep interlopers from purchasing the tricorder once it goes live, and they're screaming about it. One reason I don't generally post in the fan groups over there. That place be cray-cray.

Surely a sob story to the Wand Company will allow one to cut in line? Something pathetic but believable….

Yeah, their TOS BSG laser gun is like $799 too. Ouch.

First, it’s only 500.00.
Ha! I used the word “only”.
The laser is substandard. It’s light, sound is weak and emitter is way to dim.
But they want 500.00 for this. Where do they get off asking outrageous prices like this? I hope when they see the price of the TOS Tricorder they hang their head in shame. I will NEVER again spend one dime with FE.

I think the numbers TWC gives everyone is a root number and not truly representative of were you are in the line list…I’m almost sure they are using calculations based on their own arithmetic. I think it’s more like this….

The (root) number in line given to you is 183662….enter it into the TWC calculations below…and…

Not 5 years. Assume 90% are not interested anymore, down to 5200. How many can be made and sent out in a week? Hundreds? Can Amazon uk process extra hundreds of international orders a week?

I'm having great fun at the expense of people who are panicking about whether they'll get a tricorder. I wish I could say it all started with Captain Dunsel's post above, but really it started much earlier than that, when my mother dropped me on my head at birth...

Logic dictates that The Wand Co will keep building them until demand drops off.

I'm guessing that after the phaser and communicator runs they have a good idea of how many to build.
