The Ultimate Luke ANH Graflex Research & Discussion Thread

From that angle probably just the lower clamp hole is "missing". The upper one should be hidden by his fingers.

Question about the serial numbers, I measured one of my sidebars but I can't decide if the stamped numbers are 4mm or 3mm. Does anyone know the exact size?

Is there a possibility that theres a green exactra PCB underneath the bubble strip? They did it on Vader's... why not Lukes?

looks like it here:

I was putting together my TGS/Wannawanga replica and was trying to get the clamp to close "The right amount... the only way i could get it to look correct was to stick a slothfurnace exactra PCB under there to prevent the clamp jaws from closing too tight around the bubbles... also... the height looks right when i did this.

Am i crazy? just doing it wrong? do i need an Uncut original Bubble strip? Or is it actually a possibility there's a card in there?

I love this idea, but I see the inside clamp bars

I just see the edge of the bubble-strip.

I think it’s just the bubble strip too. If they trimmed the bubble strip like the Vader and Elstree, then the clamp will close only to the point of the milled channel. If you sand the bubble strip too thin the clamp edges will cover too much

Does anyone have any product recommendations for DIYing the clamp bar stamp? Looks like they need to be 3mm in height but I'm having trouble finding a typeface that looks right. Any help would be lovely.

It should be noted that RPK Customs has machined a batch of caps to simulate the unusually large rivet head on the ANH clamp lever. I ordered one, so I’ll give it a review and take some photos when it arrives.

This particular detail has nagged at me for the past few years (since all of the replicas out there feature the standard rivets), and I’m glad someone’s finally stepped up to the plate to address it.

How did you order one?

The raw aluminum of the cap stood out a bit much against the chromed steel lever and clamp, so I gave it a few applications of Alumium Black and some buffing to blend everything together a bit better.
