According to various sites it's fixed. I was able to download it during lunch. (12:30 EST) although I didn't get to play it yet.

I downloaded the maps on lunch (noon eastern time) and got the game update but couldnt play any online ranked matches. Finally got into a private match and ran around the maps to check them out. They look like fun, Crash and Overgrown were awesome to be playing again, and it as nice to see the aestetic changes. Like visiting an old friend after years apart.
Hopefully its fixed this evening so I can get some play time in.

It looks to be up and running again. I've played a couple matches, but I got the old maps. I wish you could choose which maps you wanted to play, or not play, but at least Xbox live is working.

Downloaded the maps with no problem and applied the update. Haven't played yet, but from what I'm hearing Xbox live is up and running. I'm kind of suprised that there is no FFA option with the new maps yet.

Are the new maps not in rotation on the normal game types. Thats how it usually works. Then they add new game types to play only the new maps, usually with double xp for the first weekend or something.

Ah, right you are. The stimiulus maps are added at the bottom of the game list.

It is pretty fun still. The pisser is Activision is running it poorly. Servers crash more than they are up it seems and the glitches...yeah.

They do have that option, it's called Stimulus or Hardcore Stimulus in the game selection menu. I have yet to play a match yet since it all was fixed, though I'm about too, but my nephew said the new maps are in rotation on some of the other game modes as well.

Wow nothing paying 15 bucks for new maps and having to play all of the crappy versions of the game. If they don't fix it soon so that you can PICK what game you want to play they'll never get another dime from me. I played maybe an hour, most maps that came up were the rehash maps from the last game, and when a new one came up it was S&D. You mean I get to play the new map for 5 seconds at a time? Fantastic.

Every time a new map pack is released, they put them separately from the other maps, so people get a chance to play them, without being skipped by the people who don't have them. It was like that in 4, WAW and this one, obviously. I like the new maps personally, Bailout is my favorite, love the apartment complex, lot's of places to go. The other maps are decent, I'm just glad for something new, I'm so sick of playing Karachi all the time.

It would be nice if they allowed you to choose the game type for yourselves instead of the random selection. I personally don't care for S&D.

I'm not so keen on the idea of the 2 rehash maps included in the update. I think if they wanted to throw "classic" maps into MW2 they should have made it a stand alone map pack, and charged 800 points for the brand new maps. It just seems like more of the old "this map again?" feeling has been thrown in there.

Now if I could just get rid of the lag problem I have been struggling with I might be able to play more. :rolleyes

I like the map pack and dont mind the match types. I usually play hardcore anyway so its no big deal. I think the new maps are in rotation with the regular game types so just play deathmatch if that is what you want. Im sure there is something in place so that the new maps come up more often.

And I love the classic maps. I agree that they could have had their own "Classic" map pack with maybe more maps, but I like the graphical touch ups and the familiar feeling. I havent gotten to play overgrown yet but it was one of my favorites before so im sure I will love it now.

Yes you can there are just more maps, so the chances of getting in a new map game arn't as high.


Anyway I just got the new map pack.. ..and I LOVE IT!!! First game I go like 47(kills), 5, and 11(deaths) then I back out and keep joining at the end of games, back out again and get in a new lobby, the game starts I turn beast mode ON and NUKE NUKE NUKE:love!!!! Ya I feel proud:love.

According to a friend he was playing free for all today and they threw in one of the new maps. So hopefully the new maps are indeed in rotation now.

Yep, played FFA last night for a couple hours and played several of the new maps which are now in the rotation (went 2 games with K/D of 30:1). Great maps

Anybody getting the new Resurgence Map Pack today? The new maps look pretty cool, although I think $15 is a little steep. Regardless, I'll be playing later tonight.
