The Guyver *Completed*

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Yeah... the helmet is an ebay cast. It just so happened that JF was working on the templates so I decided I needed a suit too... lol. Great input on the helmet. I have the suit memorized because of how much I've look at them but neglected the helmet. There is a lot of things not right or proportional but the suit will probably only be worn once for about an hour and then sold cheap or bagged up...Then helmet will be shelved. Makes me want to see if I can make it visible where it should be though..... just need the time.

I did buy LEDS for the eyes... I tried James Iron man light up sunglass style with them and I didnt think it showed up enough to make an impact. They"ll be chrome eyes with black honeycomb netting over them.

I'm going to Naka-Kon in Overland Park Kansas in March so I will have to find some time between college, work, and family to finish this...Hopefully the convention peeps will dig it. :D

Thanks everyone!

Well that makes me sad to hear you won't keep it! Its an awesome suit definitely worthy of keeping...

For the record DIBS :p

Lol... nice. I have to see how it goes. I only go to a couple of conventions per year and I'm stock piling suits in my spare room..... 2 stormtroopers, war machine, halo armor, now guyver parts boxed up or sprawled out... and the list to make more keeps growing. I have to stay off the rpf....

Yeah sounds about right :p addiction pure and simple lol

I need to sort a war machine once my spawn/lantern suits are finished and I have no space/idea where it'd go let alone a guyver but I would find room for this badboy its one you could wear again and again!

I've been in love with the suit ever since I first saw it and when I saw the bioweapons guy doing em back in the day it topped my list of must have costumes so maybe my opinion is a little biased by my own love of the character :p

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Seriously keep the suit mate. It would look great as a display piece. Big fan of Steve Wang's movie version and you're capturing the 2 designs perfectly.

And if you do decide to sell, don't short change yourself. Seems like you have put a lot of time and effort in this costume.

Thanks...I can't wait to see pics of your completed sculpt. It looks a lot better than my crooked one...lol.

Very big fan of this build. The detail you put in this is admirable!

Thank you very much!

I am making a Pepper Potts rescue helmet for my daughters birthday and college started so I've stopped for a bit. I have to have it done by the end of February so I'll be working on the extras in a couple weeks even if I have to lose sleep....

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Not much of an update....But I am doing it anyways... My thread...muhahahaaa...

It was a nice day so I threw some black on the curves of and outlines of the suit. I tried the dark blue but I couldn't see much of a difference. You can still hardly notice the black under regular light but outside you can see it all. Also added black detail to the helmet to match the back...got dark on me so I didn't get to finish it. :unsure

Assembled my daughters helmet... I love foam because it only took 3 hours to get it built and ready for paint. And it's still the basketball court.

Re: Guyver *WIP*

I seriously can't even believe this is foam its so clean and sharp....

Looks like a fiberglass from a sculpt or latex or something normally you can tell its a foam not this...

Re: Guyver *WIP*

^ What he said. BTW, awesome looking spawn

So does this mean that you'll have matching suits with your daughter?

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Your Daughter's Iron-man helmet is looking pretty cool too. I like that you didn't choose the movie version. Or is that the rescue armor?

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Thanks again... :thumbsup

It's Pepper's rescue armor. I still have to paint the face and the ears white. I also have to sand back down the purple because the paint crackled from the cold yesterday. I made the Loki helmet for my son. When they fight from here on out I'm going to make them wear them so they have a reason to do it.

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Wow!!! Love it!

Nice! Looking good man!

Thank ya thank ya.... can't wait to get back on it. This weekend is when dive straight back into it. Going to start with the other foot and knees and maybe the little neck pieces if I still have them. My desk is a wreck with templates and foam. There is so many projects I've slammed together. I have half a Oceanic Halo 4 chest made, Pepper helmet, TDK torso and arms (Nightwing), and the Guyver just waiting....and people keep getting me sidetracked with cool ideas (Captain America Halo spartan armor?). :lol

I want to get the arm blades atleast drawn and cut but I'll have to see how big the honey do list is....

Thanks mate. I think the helmet you have is a great piece though, I was going to buy one myself as a display piece. This current helmet I'm sculpting is like the 3rd time I've tried and finally got it to where I want it to be.

Silicones all here so after I've moved home at the weekend I'll be molding mine up :D

The material you used for the tendrils running under the armour is fantastic and really resembles the movie suit. Are you going to be taking the shine off the paint job when it's done? It's looking a bit too metallic. Might just be the flash on the camera though.

Re: Guyver *WIP*

I'm really thinking about leaving it metallic shine.... Ever since that first coat I kinda fell in love with how it played with the light and almost makes it look wet. I want to make sure this has the illusion of not being a foam mat...lol. I wouldn't mind trying to go for a legit Guyver but It's not being used for anything but for fun.

Definitely post some pics of your helmet!!!
