The Guyver *Completed*

:eek that looks amazing! U need to hurry up and find more paint!

Sherwin-Williams is ordering it for me. 5-6 business days. Lol

Okay, now I'm really excited to see how this turns out :eek

I hope it turns out good....trial an error. Atleast its quick to make.... just so many details.

Man your suit is really looking nice can't wait to see it finished.

Me too!!!! :D

Thanks for the replies.... makes me feel better about posting this. JFcustom asked me too.... so I did. Lol.

Re: Guyver *WIP*

If that is copper pipe insulation foam, be careful with the hot glue it melts easy. If it's not, then NM lol

It's cool Durkness has used loads on his build already. This guy is a pro at using his materials.

Durkness.

This build is looking out standing! I have been watching since the beginning and when you started I had just finished watching the Gyver series after many years of not seeing it and the Gyver 3 suit was added to my wish list. If I ever get round to it I will be using this thread as reference as your work is inspirational.

Looking forward to this one finished,
Tom.

Yeah...it's has the same effect as the caulking foam...it was a bit more reactive to heat though so it is a good catch. I left 2cm at the both ends to go into the holes for the chest and back. I'll could wrap the ends in tape?..... But it does have 2 coats of mod podge so between that and all the layers of paint that will be on it, hopefully the hot glue doesn't sizzle right through.... I'll test it when I install the first one and we'll see.

Thanks! Means a lot since I'm still learning.... If it wasn't for people replies and ideas on this thread, there would be a lot of gaps in this build. I just need to work on making helmets.... :thumbsup

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Cool so you know what it does. My guyver 3 build what the first time i used that stuff, so you could imagine my surprise when it started to melt lol :eek but I figured it out quickly, so how much more do u have left to build?

I still have to make the sections that roll up to the helmet from the chest.... back of hands and fingers, gloves?.... and to figure out what to do with the feet. Figured since I have some time waiting for paint I can kill these out.

After I paint the helmet I need to do the lenses too.... I dunno if I am going to light up the eyes yet or not. I bought black netting to make the eyes honeycomb....

Still have to get the black in the details for paint too..... fun stuff....

You have given me a lot of ideas so I appreciate it!

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Not a prob, when I was learning to do this no one wanted to help me, so I try to give any input I can. The only thing I can really help u with is spit balling ideas lol the suit looks great

Re: Guyver *WIP*

I should have said wearable...bought some sandals to attach to the foot... I think this was one of the first pieces that JF released. So it was the first stuff made. But they were attached today. Still have the other one to make...then mod podge the cracks....then put some veins and details into it. I have been going off of the model that was made from the movie for most of the detailing...

Lol... Thanks! I could have spit this out pretty fast if it wasn't for the freakish texture...

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Any update or ideas about the elbow horns ? A long set and a short set ? Some telescopic, motorized self-emerging ones ? Sharp ones ? Real ones ? :thumbsup
I'm afraid you'll have to strike hard to reach the level of the rest of the suit...

Yeah..... you got a point.... and I still need 2 of them. :lol

For some reason I'm procrastinating on them. I want to make sure the suit looks good before I do the little stuff. I am going to make them the gloss black though instead of matching the suits color. The black looks so good next to the blue... and I still have to figure out how long I want them to be.

I feel like I'm going backwards because the paint is totally off now. The cans were doing parts metallic and then other parts flat blue....same kind of paint, same working environment. I wasted a ton of time and money and the colors don't match each piece now. :cry

i felt the same way with my guyver, at least you have another project to keep u busy while you figure stuff out. its coming along great

Re: Guyver *WIP*

Aight.... I need some help. My batch of paint was shxt so I bought another type. Just one can of course.... it darkens the blue a lot but has metal flakes in it so it's kinda cool. Question is how do I bring the details out now? Do you think using black for the veins would show enough with how dark the color is now? I really want to try the airbrush and making them thicker black lines.....

Any comments and suggestions will be appreciated. I only have to do one coat thankfully...
