The Definitive Marvel's Daredevil thread

What I plan on doing is taking the straps and glueing them directly onto the holster.
The holster is a hard vinyl nunchuk case,

Ah okay, I assume the straps are nylon webbing? I would use hot glue. That's just me.

I'm making my own holster, its going to be vinyl+cordura and I'm going to stitch it together. Nylon webbing for the straps to hold it in place. Might need something to keep it in place. I'll figure that out after I get started.

Just another plug for PunisherNC's method back on page 19. Acetone from Home Depot and a dishrag took it off very easily, with no harm to the fabric. This definitely works.

Most nail polishes have acetone in it. Check the listed chemicals on the back first to make sure. I used a cotton ball.. as I got further I realized if you stretch the shirt over your knee, it's much much easier to peel off than if you dont stretch it.

Where is everyone finding the old-school 6515r elbow pads? All the ones I've come across have the new logo on the hexes instead of on the arm bands.

Are these not the correct ones?

I haven't ordered them yet, but hope they are as pictured...

I took a gamble and purchased a pair that were indeed 6515r Elbow Pads, but were advertised with the 'McDavid' logo on the hex's. Instead, I received in the mail today a pair without the logo! Just waiting on the gloves and boots to arrive now. ^_^

I went ahead and ordered the ones off Amazon. I'm crossing my fingers they match the photo. But, I've seen several pads with the logo on the hexes instead of the arm band.

You guys realize all the pads and just about everything has been identified and labeled with Model #'s in the first post?

If its the 6515R then its correct.

It is the same model, but it doesn't mean there haven't been changes made to the model, like moving the McDavjd logo from the arm band to the pad itself. I've seen several 6515Rs for sale, and in the pic, the logo is on the pad...

Has anyone started the red suit? I really want to see anyone's progress!!

Haven't started a physical build yet, but I've been modeling the hard parts in preparation for a build. Once they're done I'll start drafting up patterns for the cloth, I plan on making this for someone before summer's over.

Cowl here and here, bracers here, gaiters here, and I'll hopefully have some holster pattern progress to show by tomorrow.

It's rough with virtually all of the reference material being its appearance in the show itself, I'd love for Netflix to release more promotional images but I think that ship sailed when the show dropped :/

"Cowl and simplified scaler version fully done. I know some people were hoping to get these files for free, but the same bills that stopped me from doing a 3D print are necessitating I sell my helmet files. Sorry, guys

" ... I understand "bills" and how they need to be paid. you deserve to be paid for the very cool work you do!

Thank you for understanding.

Unexpected issue with the gaiters, but patterns for that and the bracers should be ready tomorrow!

Great job, everyone. Tossed my stuff together for a few quick photos. Not 100% screen accurate but I'll make a few changes as I go along. Focusing on the red suit at the moment. So what does everyone think, full arm pads, half, or no arm pads?

I know I'm pretty late to this thread, but what have you guys been using for the black mask? The old black shirt has me bumping into things to much, thanks!

Honestly, I grabbed a black cotton mesh like fabric at Wal-Mart of all places. Visibility is really good

You look incredible man! By any chance do you do personal training? Could really use some help for an upcoming charity event I'm planning for around San Diego Comic Con.

Thanks for your time and keep up the amazing work!

wow...you have a great build for this. I can pull of a 6'5" Spider-Man despite copious trying... That's why my masks go in a home theater not on parade.

AwkwardStageB- thanks, man. I've never been a personal trainer but I'm more than happy to share any workout tips I've picked up over the last few years. I'm a beer and burger lover, so it's difficult. It's all about moderation. I workout 4-5 days a week about 45 min per workout.

Duality- it's not easy, bud. I've just gotten to a point where it's a habit for me so I feel guilty if I miss out on a workout, etc.

indridColdX- oh no, I'm an even 6ft tall. And I eat between 2600-3000/cal per day

The holster is a hard vinyl nunchuk case,

After weeks of procrastination I finally spent a few hours and whipped this holster up.

The Holster

Not confirming the item, this is my custom version of it. Vinyl w/ PVC backing wrapped in Cordura. Black nylon webbing for the straps which I don't think is accurate but I have plenty of it on hand. Velcro closure with a simple square ring.

Ill post mine when im done in an hour or so. I went for the hot glue, I spoke to a professional cosplay maker and she told me hot glue would be perfectly adequate.
