The Definitive Marvel's Daredevil thread

So this is my stick holster, it is a hard vinyl nunchuk case.
Again this is NOT screen accurate but I thought the idea was really cool and very much enjoy the final product. Sorry for the pic, I couldnt find a good angle

I'm almost finished with the flat pattern for them, too!

And the holster is coming along (ignore the missing details on the billy clubs, they're just placeholders)

There's a step in depth on the lower half, and once I figure out exactly how that transition happens the rest of it should come together super duper fast

After weeks of procrastination I finally spent a few hours and whipped this holster up.

The Holster

Not confirming the item, this is my custom version of it. Vinyl w/ PVC backing wrapped in Cordura. Black nylon webbing for the straps which I don't think is accurate but I have plenty of it on hand. Velcro closure with a simple square ring.

Can you post the pattern that you used to make this?

Well, I can't find an 8800R with the correct pattern to save my life. Looks like it was an older model and McDavid's changed to the M logo instead of the hexagons. :( Anyone got a Large that doesn't fit them? Happy to buy it off of you. :)

Pattern?

Its literally two rectangles. Two pieces of fabric sewn together, and then the straps sewn on to the backing piece. Pretty sure most people could figure that out. If not, then hey you get to learn something new.

I've never really sewed anything together before, I wasn't sure if there were any certain measurements or proportions of fabric to help the sticks fit securely. I guess I was just over thinking it.

Westies, I have a feeling that it was the shape of Cox's nose that made it turn out like that!

The finished product, on closer look, just seems like it suffered from low budget or time pressures. The fact that the gauntlets are just wraparound rubber, and that the black material on the legs is just spandex, makes me think this was put together fairly quickly. It doesn't have that attention to detail that Cap or even Hawkeye's suit has. Hopefully since he'll be wearing it full time in season two, the designers will make some upgrades...

I hope the make it more lightweight. In the final fight scene with Fisk, Matt looked way more restricted than in the earlier fight scenes. Obviously that's a given, but I hope he can move more in the season two costume.

Cross-post from smaller Daredevil thread: The article in question

Unfortunately, the only actual info about the suit itself (as opposed to the BTS concepts influencing the decisions they made) was this little nugget, which most had already assumed: "... we did our normal process of modeling the head and the cowl [in] 3D with Josh Herman...."

Does anyone know where I can get a dye sub file of the red suit. Ive been looking but I can't find one. If I can't, I might just hand make it.

Snakepit Studios is working on one but it isn't finished yet. You can check out their Ryan Reynolds Deadpool for an idea of how it might end up looking.

That looks fantastic, much better than what mine was going to look like haha. If you decide to make these for other people let me know, I am definitely interested!

For the faceshell, I got one of these from a local shop and it works perfectly for giving the brow silhouette and keeping the fabric off your face. Going to trim the bottom and open the eyes. It is sturdier than a standard plastic mask and cheap! Highly recommend it. I thought initially in the store it was covered in a material which would have made it more flash resistant but it isn't, it is some sort of sturdy poster board type material so there is some shine to it but not a ton.

I ended up getting a full refund from compressionsale.com and they paid for shipping. If they didn't offer that to you and you would like the option keep at it.

More shirt updates: I got an 8840T on amazon and it looked just like the 8840R except the hexagons were only on the sides, none on the sleeves. Total crap shoot with these shirts.
