That guy sure looks like Tim "Gore" Larsen. I'm almost positive its him. He's been painting and airbrushing for years now and has worked on many films including ones done at Stan Winston's. I don't have any current contact info for him Matt but try reaching him through this gallery:

When I was back at Mattel we received tons of pre-production art for this film but unfortunately I left it all behind in my file cabinet. :facepalm So a lot of reference does exist however since they were farming it out very early for licensing.
