Stranger things

Great work as always RafalFett! I actually did a few of these by hand. Managed to find those Ampads (which they don't make anymore). I spent a ridiculous amount of time tearing the Nina Phone Number note out by hand to make it match as close as I could. Very happy with all of them!
I even did the mind flayer drawing with crayon on parchment paper! Haha.

I need to post more of my replicas, but I've been having some computer issues recently. (Don't worry all my files are safe and well backed up).
I'm actually doing some upgrades to it tonight and installing new parts so hopefully I'll be back up and running later this week.

Should especially help with these huge map files.

The making of this replica was inspired by ribeiroorafael, as he had problems finding the correct font for the Autoamerican text:
s-l1600 (49).png

While I have found several good fonts, all of them were only partial matches, so in the end I used a combo of 2-3 fonts and modified them to replicate the word; then I did the same with the Blondie word. But why stope here, I said to myself, let's do the whole calendar:
Bondie Autoamerican Calendar LR.png

Download the hi-res version here ==> Bondie Autoamerican Calendar.png. The existing Chrysalis vectorized logo found online was the only outside thing (and the image enhanced in Topaz Photo AI) I used for this.

Another prop suggested by ribeiroorafael is The Spiker poster seen at the Hawkins Post:
Image511.png

None of the Google lens searches worked, not even archive.org, but I learned that some results may come by just checking out a link then look for suggested results; this is how I stumbled upon this site ==> Headlines of "The Spiker" a newspaper published by the members of the American Expeditionary Forces - PICRYL - Public Domain Media Search Engine Public Domain Search and if you scroll down a bit you'll find the correct image:
cartoon-from-the-newspaper-the-spiker-published-by-the-men-of-the-american-ef1e23-1024.jpg The Spiker 01.2018.png

For a hi-res version you have to donate to the cause, so after 2 EUROs well spent I cleaned up the image and fully vectorized it. This is a standard A4 (297 x 210 mm).

And while I was at the same scene, I tried to find that map on that file cabinet, which is a depiction of the state of Illinois. This is the closes I have found online from a PDF found here ==> Historical:Pennsylvanian System - ILSTRAT:
Image512_3.png Figure_P-8.jpg

Another close, but no cigar search was for the other Valentine's card seen on the mirror in El's room:
Image508.png

The one with bear and the heart shape was already identified by ribeiroorafael, I also found the same bear on a different card:
IMG_0009.jpg s-l1600 (20).png

Searching the other card with the bear in the jumpsuit was a dead end, but I learned that it is in fact a koala bear named Kirby Koala:
il_1140xN.5132186689_iqxf.png s-l1600 (52).png

The closest depiction is the one on the 2nd image in the center. Here's a crude recreation of the card with the red star added to the pants:
Image508_2.png Be My Valentine.png

This next prop was identified by UnusualWizardry:
Image507.png

It's an Ampad While You Were Out note:
s-l1600 (50).png

He indirectly shared a scanned note (through ribeiroorafael) which I used to recreate it, but also do 2 versions of Nancy's writing:
Driscoll Note Front.png
Image152.png Driscoll Note Back v1.png
Image157.png Driscoll Note Back v2.png

The page is 133 x 101mm.

I know the pain involved with computer issues, as I had some not so long ago.

Haha yeah... I ended up swapping/upgrading the processor, as well as moving my OS to an M.2 (long overdue).
Because of that though, I had to reinstall Windows (to fix some other issues) which meant reinstalling all my software.
It's been a fun few weeks. Data-wise... it's nerve-wracking. I work in media so I'm nearing about 80TB from all my work - so thats fun to manage!
But I am 90% back up and running.

Great work as always on your replicas! As I scanned that pink Ampad - I do have several full pads of them (they came in a multi-pack).
So, I will likely use your replicated writing as a template to write on my authentic pads with pen. That should be fun!

While I've been dealing with computer issues I've been focusing more on the physical props - walkies, etc.
Which will lead to some developments with Max's Season 2 Skateboard. With some help from ribeiroorafael, we've identified all her stickers!
I acquired all the actual stickers and will be posting them soon (this week hopefully) after I figure out the proper scale of some of them.
Like Nancy's binder, all the stickers were scanned and reprinted - ones with shiny areas were downgraded to standard black in those areas, neon ones had their colors dulled, and a few were blown up in size.

What has complicated things a bit is that the design on the replica boards seems to have been printed slightly upscaled:
1722776953890.png

So now it's a matter of deciding if I want to have the correct scale relative to the board itself or to the design.
Since a majority of the stickers were actually reprinted at their normal scale - I'll probably just keep it relative to the board.

That's one of the things I'm working on!

For the following I can't take full credit, because these maps were purchased and scanned by UnusualWizardry, but because he had some computer problems, he asked me if I can stitch the scans together. The 1st map was composed from 12 separate scans for each side, while the 2nd map was made from 16 separate scans per side. The attachments are all low-res, but if you need the originals, you can download them from the following link ==> Scanned Maps - Google Drive.

These are maps from Season 4:
ST405_00_47_52_03.jpg ST405_00_47_56_04.jpg ST405_00_47_57_05.jpg ST405_00_48_20_06.jpg 1977 WC US Phillips 66 Map Side A LR.png 1977 WC US Phillips 66 Map Side B LR.png

This map should print at 680 x 460 mm.

This map should print at 900 x 455 mm. Note that side A of this map have both variants at the download location (with and without the X at the Nuclear Testing Site):

These two finds were suggested by ribeiroorafael. The 1st find was a partial image and its location shared with me:
1723121371609.jpeg

With a bit of search I've found the full photo here ==> [Aerial view panorama].

It's a panoramic photo of Leisure World, Maryland seen at the Hawkins Police in Season 2:
Image531.png Image534.png

Using the 2nd screencap I cropped the found photo to match the one from the episode:
Leisure World Maryland Comp.png Leisure World Maryland LR.png

Download the hi-res photo (not in scale) from this link ==> Leisure World Maryland.png.

The other suggestion was from a BTS image from season 4, more exactly in Will's room in Lenora Hills:
1723138060489.jpeg

It's the partial poster on the upper left corner and it reads Monterey Bay Aquarium. There's no good image in that particular episode (Chapter 4 - Dear Billy), only a blurry side view:
Image540.png Image540_2.png

It definitely depicts some water and something swimming there (some animal, like a dolphin or a seawolf or something else). So armed with these informations (Monterey Bay Aquarium + water + water animal) I started searching Google, archive.org and such for the correct poster, but none of them was close enough; but one of the finds stirred me into another direction:
1_6e40a9451fd6ed82d6924a1f61742bf5.jpg

It's the date and the info Grand Opening Day. Did another search using the new info and on the official Facebook page of Monterey Bay Aquarium, in a particular post celebrating 34 years from the grand opening, one of the members posted this photo (link here ==> Log into Facebook - you'll have to scroll down on the comments and hit the View more comments to find the image):
44546783_1897086207006235_4910315652864016384_n.png

It's a perfect match of the blurry photos:

Here's the photo cropped, without clean up of the light reflections:

And a close-up shot found elsewhere:

Here is the enhanced painting (from post #331) with close to accurate text and the logo redone:
Monterey Bay Aquarium Poster Final LR.png

Link to the hi-res image ==> Monterey Bay Aquarium Poster Final.png. Made to 460 x 331 mm, but resize to your need.

And now for some other things I found (one of them was a long search):
Image536.png Image536_2.png

It's a roll down map of US in Lenora Hills class room, from season 4. And here's the accurate map:
f370147a-c016-4802-b945-bc9ee5eb8b5e.jpg 5235013_1wmark.jpg

This one is from Eddie's trailer:
Image538.png s-l1600 (95).png s-l1600 (97).png s-l1600 (96).png

And the long awaited find (at least for me):
Indian Scout Drawing.png Image424.png

I have already posted this in this thread, which is just a cleaned up version of the screencap from Season 1. I had a hunch that this might be from a learn to draw or a sketchbook, but had no luck finding it, even searching the image or the keywords Indian Scout. For a time I have give up with this and moved on to other things, but a couple of days ago I tried my luck again and as a starter I find this image:
15 (1).jpg

It is clearly a redraw (of the original) found here ==> Arts By Pencil - Pencil Sketch Artist in Bangalore, Mumbai, India. This gave me more confidence that I am close to find it. I've started looking for learn to draw, learn pencil sketch and so on books first on Google Books, then on archive.org. One of the books got my special attention: The art of pencil drawing by Gene Franks (The art of pencil drawing : Franks, Gene : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive):
s-l1600 (109).png

It's the same style and similar layout seen on the Indian Scout page (sadly it was not in this book). I did a search for Gene Franks books and as soon as I saw this title Drawing: People with Gene Franks (Amazon.com) I knew that I'm close. Did another search on archive.org with the new terms and found the borrowable book ==> Drawing: People with Gene Franks (HT234) : Walter Thomas Foster : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive and what have I found on page 28 and 29?
Indian Scout Original 1.png Indian Scout Original 2.png

I will clean up the images and repost them.

Thanks for the posters!
I also found that Don't Straighten Up The Mess plaque (on eBay), but for some reason never posted the find. There are other things that I have looked for, but so far with no luck. Here are some of them in case you want to do some detective work:

These were enhanced in Topaz Photo AI and while not perfect, it is way better than nothing. Made as 515 x 413 mm.

Found another poster from the Hawkins Middle School halls (I think it's from Season 2):

It does look similar, but what if that's just a hanger?
Oh let's ignore it, it's so small and random  maybe we return to it in future?!

About Eddie's Calendar seen in s04e01, sent it earlier here, but I appreciate it so much that you sent it again, so I could check earlier messages and find the next calendar (last one)

Besides the two magazines found in Eddie's trailer sent earlier, found a new one as well
