Limited Run Star Wars - Jedi training remote SFX aluminium box base

I'm getting all the donor parts cast for any one that needs them... just have to work out how many rims don't have bolts.

Hey there,
I got started on a few parts today:

those are pretty cool, with the integrated ball bearing. I don't see any screws on the refs, so I did large passes with the lathe so the part would heat up nicelly, then pushed the ball bearing with my mill vice. that way, they are heat pressure fit and hold by themselves :)

this is the top ball bearing by the way, it's not really visible in the refs. The bottom one will be flush like the refs, no worries ;-)
cheers

Dang thunder storms.. can’t trust them
yeah we are at 600m high here, next to the alps moutains and there are a lot of storm in the summer. That and the crazy heat in the workshop are the reasons I'm much less efficient in the summer sadly.
but this project is moving forward nicelly anyways :)

I hope the donkeys are ok!
yeah, yesterday was crazy all of a sudden, so I just had time to unplug everything in the house and go to the workshop quickly to close and unplug. Then I got stuck there as there was one of the biggest and most sudden hail storm I have seen in my life. So I had no time to tend to the animals. But they are clever and have a lot of shelter spots everywhere.
One of the dunkeys got sick this year because of a tick desease. But we are treating her and she's responding pretty nicelly to the treatment so far. She's coming back running every evening to eat her treats and medecine and is very energetic because of the vitamins. So we are hopefull it's gonna pass ok :) The others are perfectly well, even the 30 years old poney, still as strong and stubbord!
we actually brought the rooster to the vet this morning, that was a first... ah, life in a farm!

Today's work!
bottom ball bearing rings are done. Heat pressure fit as well here, very precise work to do correctly. The two in the front, I'll have to redo as they were a tiny bit too large to be pressure fit.

started cutting the material for the boxes. i'll discuss this more in length in the next days, I was cut short at 7 tonight when my wife got back and I didn't take as many pics as I wanted to explain.
