I was thinking too. For me it would also be better if the jacket is not extra warming and not much thicker than the leather itself.Sorry, didn’t want to be this guy, but…
Am I the only one that has concerns over this lining?
My first concern is that it looks bulky and in turn will throw off the overall look of the jacket in comparison to a screen used jacket. I would think that for the sake of actor’s comfort, any lining on set was either thin or almost non existent. That is just speculation on my part.
On a related note, I would also speculate that for those wanting to wear the jacket for costuming purposes, an insulated jacket might not be preferred for convention wear.
Thoughts on offering the option on insulated or a simple black lining?

None of this reply makes my feel better about your choice of liner. In fact, it only seems to add to my concerns. This islightweight padding quilted lining (50 grm I think), that gives softer look to jacket, it gives comfort too.
No you definitely want a lining. When I sewed my Voyager uniform two piece I lined that as well as it gives it a more weighty quality feel which drapes much better than an unlined piece. Nothing looks worse than an overly thin looking jacket.None of this reply makes my feel better about your choice of liner. In fact, it only seems to add to my concerns.

I wasn't talking about the thin lining fabric alone I was talking about an interface layer between the leather and the liner like the light insulated layer that Jameel appears to be suggesting. Just the leather (being very soft and thin) combined with a very thin lining is not going to feel high quality IMO. Comments Jameel?I didn’t say I have a concern with lining, I have a concerns about their choice of lining… which is insulated and padded. I myself would prefer a simple lining without padding or insulation.
There are valid reasons for either type of lining, quilted or flat. In construction, Jameel feels like the quilting helps give the jacket a more accurate look. But I get why some people may not prefer it. We'll talk over the options.I wasn't talking about the thin lining fabric alone I was talking about an interface layer between the leather and the liner like the light insulated layer that Jameel appears to be suggesting. I am wondering if the heavier lining was to give the non-leather parts of the jacket more structure and durability. I suspect most people simply planned to wear a warmer shirt under the jacket in colder temperatures.
100% this. For what it's worth, I don't tell my barber how to cut my hair, I'm in that hair because I trust they are the expert. That's a $20 type of situation.
These jackets are FAR more expensive, and one of the reasons I plunked down the cash for not one, but TWO of these bad boys is that I took a long hard look at the quality of past products put out by the parties involved, and decided to trust.
Quilted, not quilted, looking forward to getting a kick ass jacket.
I entirely agree with this...I have one of Jameel's Thor Jackets and it's similarly lined with the same looking lining, and it's not at all too hot...It fills the jacket out nicely when worn too, so I entirely get what they're referring to with the idea of using it....I'm fine with the lining....It should be a more uniform finish, something you'll get with a decent lining here.....For what it's worth, I don't tell my barber how to cut my hair, I'm in that hair because I trust they are the expert.
