Spider-Man: No Way Home

I loved the movie, just wish Strange had not been in it. We went from Tony to Strange as mentors. I would have liked to see Peter make it out on his own.
I would assume that would be the next movie.

Could be one of the stories where he teams up with DareDevil - the cop murder story is especially haunting to me and would fit with Peter's current situation and mentality. That one also ties in with Eddie Brock (from this universe) and the whole symbiote affair they could do in the movie after the next one. It all lines up, and would be a chance to take Spidey back to his roots with no world ending dangers, but something more down to his level as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. But I fear Sony and Marvel may not want to go that route.

I just saw this last night. I really enjoyed it but as the Mrs. and I were winding down for the evening the movie started to unravel at the seams the more we thought about it. Continuity questions that seemed very straight forward really called so much into question that in order to preserve our enjoyment we had to stop thinking about it, which is honestly really sad. That's the problem with so many of these movies and why I try not to get too invested in them and also the danger of having to balance an overly complicated plot with a huge ensemble cast. The more intricate the plot the higher the chances of it going sideways.

The performance were great though and the characters really came into their own, with Tom Holland finally winning me over as Spiderman. The inclusion of past characters was handled very well and the emotion of each dramatic scene really felt earned.

How did they all get out to the Statue of Liberty? Not to mention Peter tells the whole internet that this is where he is, then they have this long battle and no one shows up. How long does it take to get to the island from Manhattan?

Still, I loved it. I watched it like 4 times now.

The fact that Tobey McGuire got run through seemed to be of little consequence.

"I've been stabbed before." Yeah but that doesn't automatically mean you can survive it again. Not that I wanted to see Tobey's Peter Parker die, but it undercut the drama of him being wounded so badly. Didn't the blade go all the way through him too, yet missed major organs?

Not to mention if each of these villains could be cured so easily of their "evil" then why didn't it happen in their respective movies?

Cue Pitch Meetings..... So the movie can happen!

I thought that at first, but my second viewing, we don't actually see the blade go all the through him, nor do we see a hole or blood on the front of his suit. Plus, in the shot of the Goblin pulling the blade out from behind on Toby, our only real shot of the wound, it looks small, like a steak knife size.

I absolutely despise fan theories! So here’s mine. When Doctor Strange cast the spell and made everyone forget who Peter Parker was, it did not include sentient artificial intelligences.

Tony Stark plans for every eventuality. He is decades ahead of anybody else in thought process and predicting probabilities! No doubt he locked Peter’s identity safely away in Friday!

Not the mention, E.D.I.T.H. was conspicuously missing from the last movie. my guess is that the two AI‘s will interface, and create a program that will send an EM pulse or something like that, targeted to the brains of everybody who needs to remember who Peter is, and make it happen.

I would go a step further and risk saying Tony is still alive in another universe and will meet/team up with Peter some day. That was my thought and hope when I first heard of the multiverse in the MCU though

Ned opening a portal.

And yeah... the fact that the area wasn't swarming with police, news helicopters and civilians being idiots is a lost opportunity for things to screw up.

I think with so many crazy superpowers and villains around, no fan, critic, police officer and especially helicopter would dare get close enough to get hurt; even from a distance you're already at risk, to try fly a helicopter in a sandstorm/lightning storm. They know they are not a match, and all of a sudden it's not so bad to have a vigilante nearby who sticks up for people, let alone three of them. In any case, I liked seeing all three Spideys together

Although true, you do have people crazy enough to go film tornados and such as hobbyists. Hobbyists taking film footage of superheroes duking it out with supervillains would definitely be a big hit on youtube in the MCU. There was a small crowd in Spiderman 3 when Spidey worked with Harry to take out 2 supervillains.

Though... JJ is in this movie... so... why wasn't he going out there or sending someone out there to film? He did it before to get proof... so why not now?

I saw this the other day while my wife was in surgery.

I really enjoyed it.

Even knowing that the other Spider-Mans were in it going in, it still didn’t diminish any of the film for me.

The one thing I keep wondering about is…

…I got the distinct impression that MJ certainly felt SOMETHING when Peter was talking to her at the end. I’m not sure whether she actually knew him, or if she just had a bit of a feeling of deja vu going on, but that was more than just a customer buying a coffee and making small talk.

When I looked I saw that the script describes that scene as her looking at him with…recognition?

I know Peter always kind of admires the girl from afar, but I really liked the dynamic that these two had. I hope they find some way to get the people that need to know his identity back in the fold pretty quickly.

I think there's wiggle room in the script for that. some of it could just be director and writers wanting to drive tension and suspense in the scene. though wording of the final spell could be interpreted that folks simply forget Peter's name and info about him, not necessarily his face and voice.

She could be experiencing seeing him and hearing his voice and remembering both, but simply being struck with no information or actual memories to associate with it.
