thanks everyone.  Yeah Rob,  they look like dreads, but im just gonna sculpt-in rows on the dome.
 i had the idea that i might lay some leather over top of that, kinda like the rebel Endor helmets in Jedi.

Man.. How about a smoked plexi dome?.. Maybe with some coils underneath.. Just a thought

Bonzrus---  i am using an armature i made off of my halfmask.  it's plaster bandages covered in fiberglass with foam and wood on the inside.
