A small update. On my prototype, the o-ring from the shop has begun to dry out. So, I ordered some new top quality o-rings that Dewy recommended "The secret with O-rings, (at least the best I've found so far) is to make sure the material is "Buna-N". These are by far the most durable O-rings and what we use on rocket engines."
I'm going to include one of these Buna-N o-rings with every saber, so you'll have a more durable option that should last longer.
Any chance of offering some to replace the ones on the Maul sabers? I had one crack and haven’t yet remembered to pick up replacements from the hardware store.
Exactly the same situation here, I'd happily pay for a fresh set for my Maul.
Not gonna lie: was at least going to ask for a part # for the same reason… assuming it’s the same diameter?

Yeah, I had to replace mine, too, a few months back.
I keep forgetting to replace mine on the AS Maul he did. My o-rings disintegrated a few months after I got it.

After a long period of redesign and prototyping by Drew and myself, I am now excited to announce that I am finally ready to start signing people up for my Obi-wan Episode 1 saber kit.

If you're interested in getting in on this run, here is the place to sign up. This will be a one time very limited run. And I have no plans to ever do another Obi-wan saber like this again.

Please read carefully before adding your name to the list.
The saber will be a full kit, and will come partially assembled, but you'll need
to do a little finishing work (like gluing in pins and painting the delrin parts--if you so choose.). Halliwax and I will provide a full tutorial when the time comes.
The saber will be machined from 6061 aluminum, black delrin, brass, and stainless steel. There are over 25 individual custom machined parts that go into this hilt. It will include all the parts needed for a complete saber.
It will be a static prop--meaning it will not be possible to FX the hilt.
The cost will be $285.00 plus shipping (usually 17.50 in the USA and 27.50 abroad, but I can't give a final quote for that right now because shipping prices might change before the order is done).
I will not accept payment until I have all the parts in hand. However, I expect that if you sign up here, you accept that you have made a solid commitment to follow through on your purchase. If you are unsure about your interest, please do not sign up.
I will leave this signup thread open for two weeks and after that, I will close the list and proceed with the run.
In order to sign up. You must post your commitment and let me know how many saber kits you want in the space below. At the end of two week, I will add up all the names and close the list.

For what its worth, Buna-N are the type of O-rings we used on our paintball markers when I played heavily years ago. They were the ones that were resistant to the extreme cold temps and would last the longest. On a display saber they should last an incredibly long time and be pretty simple to replace if it ever needed it.
Hi Kaden. You can't sign up for runs that are closed this way, unfortunately. You're going to need to find someone in the list of 120 above to release their spot on the run.

Did you just take an old one in and buy the ones that looked closest in diameter and thickness?

I'm pretty sure you mention it on your Maul saber tutorial video as well. Thank you for those tutorials, as well, BTW. They reduce a lot of time and guesswork.

So it looks as though the bin I grabbed them out of didn’t have a part number… I do however explain how I found them.. by placing the ones supplied in the kit, inside the new found o rings to gauge the size
