Ryan Gosling 'K' - Blade Runner 2049!

Yes, we could definitely replicate his pants, fully made-to-measure. Shoot me an e-mail or PM to discuss further.

Thanks Indy, I might need to adjust my coat order - I ordered the dark brown shearling, but I think the camel brown is the screen accurate one - is that correct?

I've been rereading this thread and realizing my tailor misunderstood the collar request. He believed I was requesting shortening the collar by an inch on the side with the buckle, which would have meant cutting and essentially pinching the fabric in the back (hence the visible seam that would show). I'm realizing what Mechanismo and shahrooz meant by shifting the collar literally removing and replacing it an inch over. What I'm wondering is, won't this affect the symmetry of the coat on the side of the collar where the belt is? As it stands, the soul revolver coat (see attached pic, apologies in advance for poor photoshop) has the collar and left lapel flush, meeting end to end. If the collar is shifted, the top part will overlap. Is that screen accurate? It's hard to tell from screencaps.

The extended collar and lapel are the same length but because of the way they are cut they aren't really flush (if they are laid naturally they overlap). Hope that makes sense.

Hey Indy,
Big fan of your stuff. That explanation makes sense on paper, but would love a visual illustration if you've got one. So you would say the best bet would be to move the entire collar over?

Hey, check out post 1390 on page 70 of this thread. Mechanismo answers this question really well.
I wouldn't like it if the collar was longer than the lapel on the long side like your photoshop, however Mechanismos looks great and to his point it sits behind the lapel unseen if the magnets are in place properly

that's exactly right and yes, that's what we meant. it means taking off the WHOLE collar and reattaching it, having shifted it significantly up so that it is about an inch from the shoulder line as M indicates in his post.

Hi John! Sorry for getting this discussion a bit late. I covered this specific topic here with a few visual aids.

Incidentally, guys... I spotted something in John's SR photo and I just wanted to point out that it's another thing that every coat maker gets wrong: the shearling should come down right to the very edge of the long collar section (as show in green).
If shifting the collar and/or replacing the shearling, make sure your tailor is aware of this...

Hey guys, thank you for sharing all your hard work and research. I found a couple of options for shearling and a sweater that is close to the one from the movie at Uniqlo.

Here is a link to the sweater https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/waffle-crew-neck-long-sleeve-t-shirt-440522.html only problem is that they don't have a black one. The blue is pretty dark, I picked one up anyway.

Hey mtortori65 thanks for this! Nice to see there's actually some good options out there in stores.
Regarding the sherpa shearling, IMO I'd say this one looks pretty spot on in terms of color, strand length, drape and texture. Nice find!!

hi mtortori65! Great work! I couldnt agree more, this is better than anything I've found so far, so hat's off! The best I've done isn't actually my find, but Mechanismo's (the coat posted in one of his replies avbove) but this looks even better to be honest. Ordering! thank you

Great, glad I could contribute. The quality of Uniqlo stuff is good too and it's outer wear, so hoping it won't wear out quickly. There are other color options available if you follow the link.

that's an understatement! you nailed it! Like I said many posts ago when this thread was going a bit in the wrong direction that this is a team effort. quick question though as we're a bit confused - is this orange or beige for option no 1? I agree with M that option 2 is a bit off mark.

I'm seeing that the lighting is a little deceiving here...
These two pics appear to show the exact same coat (the way the coats are stacked beneath is the biggest giveaway),
but the color on the left (which looks terrific and correct) appears to be a darker brown in the one on the right.
This also seems to line up with the darker brown color found on their website.
This if this is the case then, the color makes this option a no-go IMO.

For option 1 it is the brown color following this link https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/fluffy-yarn-fleece-full-zip-jacket-440593.html
The photo Mechanismo chose might look lighter because of the lighting. This is a better representation of the brown color.

You would be correct about that, it is closer to the right image
