Ryan Gosling 'K' - Blade Runner 2049!

Jameel,
I love your 2049 Jacket design. It has a lot of details that I think all the enthusiasts appreciate.

One thing that I will point as maybe an easy adjustment to be more accurate would be the "V" connection of the fabric at the front needs to come up maybe 1-2 or maybe even 3 inches, as well as the pockets respectively. From a ratio standpoint yours is right about at the halfway point settling right at the hip where as the screen jacket settles more above the hip.

I would also love to see a more angled taper at the bottom of the jacket where as it seems slightly longer at the front then the back.

I would love to see some new photos with the collar down.

With these alterations, I think I would really consider placing an order through you for a jacket.
Agreed. While there are a lot of details Jameel's coat gets right, overall it still looks oversized, bulky, the sleeves look thin and it generally really needs to be more upholstered and structured. It still looks very cosplay. Give it some heft and gravitas.

Thank you.
I'm going to redo our coat, hopefully you guys will see very soon updated coat.

A guy on reddit seems to have won the Memory Bank jacket. He's posted a bit about it on the BR sub. I gave this thread a mention so im hoping he uploads photos of this thing
I was going back and forth with him, it'll be a few months before he takes ownership of them, if what he says is true.

As nice as it'll be, the pictures from the auction are pretty comprehensive at this point compared to anything in the past 6-7 years. So either way Jameel has some good resources to work from for his new redesign.

I think the biggest perk is just finally getting knowing the *exact* dimensions of that damn collar lol I think the thread has gotten pretty close, but it'll be nice to have pictures of the screen used collar laid flat so the curvatures and measurements are finally nailed to a tee. Propstore needs to fork over that coat!

could you link to the reddit please? I can't seem to find it! :D

Great...what about collar and sleeves are the most crucial points, but also, if I can give mine, just couple suggestions more, if you aren't already working on these, please remember:

- the waistline double stitched seamlines shouldn't be symmetrical, the coat is double breasted, the inner ends must touch each other when closed

- I know you can do custom sizing, but basically the length should be greater, I'd say just a bit over the knee, but better even little more, than less! and, the bottom edge of the movie coat, has the same width of the longitudinal edges, it's clearly visible

- remember to improve the lining...the one I had was nice, I also exceeded in tweaking the coat and I had to replace it, but it was already a bit weak before, the nylon that taffeta is made, it's thin and the quilting could be a bit thicker

- maybe a fur like the one I posted some posts ago, it could be a better base to start from (the one you put, it was nice to me, but that yellow color needs too much distressing that lead to a quick quality loss)

Yeah! I second this. We look forward to what you come up with Jameel. Thank you. :]

Amen to that!

I understand some time to wait is needed before the guy who got the coat will have it in his hands, so for now it couldn't be possibile to get infos, then vids and pics, I believe it would be nice to have others with tape measure directly visible on the various parts, and it'd be nice to have some other written feedback about what the owner will figure out, concerning color, coating, lining, and weight of the duck canvas (oz per square yard)

Hey all,
We just done a new coat.
Take a look at these images and put your feedback.
Thanks

not bad at all, the collar seems more funneled and properly closing, but it'd be nice to watch it worn by a real person, just to better understand how it looks like for real when closed, and to be sure it isn't still to tight.

How does it look about lining and fur now?

Great improvement to the bottom, with double stitched seamline almost same width of the longitudinal edges.
It seems you also fixed the waist seamlines for the proper double breasted setting.
Maybe the stylized curve of the cuff edge could be more SA, for instance, improving it even more like below?

I guess that's your uncoated duck...if it's solid enough and with all the details pointed here...I believe, some lite distressing on the right fur base (as it might be, dunno, this one Tessuto Tinta Unita Beige per Cappotti Pesanti), and then just try to properly coat it with the right washable acrylic medium and method, possibly including some fabric more for the ones who buy to do their tries if you're not willing to, it'd be icing on the cake, isn't it?

Agreed, I think the collar looks a bit tight on the mannequin. And it doesn’t have ears or a nose. Would be nice to see how loose/tight it is on a person.

Jameel Ur Could you possibly provide a list of the specific elements/areas of the coat that have been redesigned from the previous model?
Hey all,

We have tweaked these things,
We reduced sleeve width,
Increase collar height,
slightly angled collar edges,
Slightly Angled front closure
Changed Back slit,

Hopefully we addressed all required errors.

Our coat's Cuff shape as original cost, this image looks different to you due to the different angled photo.

I've watching this thread with interest, and ordered a custom sized BEP. It arrived quite quickly and I thought I'd share my opinions of it.
The attention to detail and quality of the stitching is good, the material is lightweight, but the coat is still quite warm.
The fur/shearling is soft and comfortable on the skin, but it does flatten quickly at the wear points.
Pockets are all of a good size, and the fastening method works fine.
There are multiple magnets in the long part of the collar and they do a good job of holding the folds together.
The only real problem that I have is it is cut slightly large, and a couple of my supplied measurements were not really adhered to,
so the sleeves are a bit too long and the waist a little larger than I wanted. The sleeves are "impossible" to shorten with out losing the cupped
cuff detail my tailor tells me, but it's annoying to keep pulling the sleeves up, so I'll probably just get it done.
Overall however it's a comfortable coat, it does look good and I'm mostly pleased with it.
Hope this helps any potential purchasers. If there's anything particular anyone wants to know, give me a shout.

that's pretty much what I thought after spending a few months wearing it.
At the beginning I immediately tried some small modifications (first of all, the fur which was bright yellow, and other small tailoring interventions, additional magnets, etc), then I made the first post, I was very happy with the result that I had obtained from the reasoning made up to that point, and the thermal performance, although perhaps the fabric that I chose (I don't think it's available anymore, today, laminated twill), although in fact quite light but already coated and washable, was in fact too dark, and a little too shiny.
...hence my attempt to modify it, ending up ruining it even a little in part, to this day I still wear it, however I admit that my SR (on which I could not avoid many modifications) suits me better also for the fact that it remains more postured and full-bodied, it is really an already excellently coated cotton, which I must say has no equal, I added extra classic waxing (Otter), but overall it is really definitive, even if it is not in duck weave...it'd be nice to see pics of yours, in duck canvas I guess.

I noticed that the SR coat, on their is is listed as currently unavailable ("coming soon"), maybe they are revising the model, although I really don't think it will become a duck.

Size wise, it's always a mess from a distance, I've been saying it all my life, and there's little to be done, it's like that... in fact even my SR, which fits me perfectly and I really feel like I'm replicating Gosling in terms of fit at certain times, I've been lucky but is still a bit tight under the armpits and I hope it gives a bit, and it's size L, which normally fits me comfortably and they recommended M to have it tight (I wouldn't have even fit in it, for me 178cm x 75kg with a chest of 104-105cm around, actually maybe XL it was better, they fit really tight)

the Jameel one has a looser fit, I definitely prefer it when I want more comfort, but if bought for the style, and after my alterations, I really can't take my SR off... this new Jameel collar is certainly interesting, but the issue for those who buy it and don't know how to make alterations (provided they have plenty of room to make them) I think it will never be solved, until there is a technology like avatar that tries on the measurements in real time over the air with the tailor
