Ryan Gosling 'K' - Blade Runner 2049!

Thanks! I'm not into cosplay at all, I'm just a sucker for aged and distressed jackets even though it's for daily wear. And mine is quite pre-aged already but I want even more, don't care about how screen accurate it is either, just love distressed things:) So I dab/sprinkle fuller's earth say on the shoulders, do you think it will stick on without something else? I know the lamination is a problem here.

I am thinking with the lamination just natural wear will be the best bet.Although Fullers might get in and around the stitched seams and areas that already have some wear though.

Hello everyone!

Sorry to have gone silent these past few months, my tailor was super busy so I got my completed coat just 2 days before leaving Italy for Japan.

In the end, I left the collar as it was.

The main modifications were:
-Addition of x6 4mm thick neodymium magnets + x1 magnet for collar attachment to the left lapel
-Replacement of the original useless hook SR provided with a functional one

My tailor managed to somehow make the stitching of the magnets almost invisible, so I'm overall satisfied with the result.

The collar can be folded/worn in 4 different patterns.

Looks good man! I was thinking exactly the same thing, 6 magnets plus one more in the collar so it doesn't look too cluttered. Does it keep closed when you're moving around, windy weather etc? And where are the stitching of the magnets, on the front side where the outer chest pocket is, or inside on the quilted lining? I can't see it nowhere. And one more question, these neodymium magnets, I got them today but they are very strong, did you wrap something around them before installing them in the jacket to prevent them from being too strong?=)

Love the way the magnets were done. I like how they go almost unseen a lot.

I bought the magnets online and they are the strongest magnets I've handled so far. Perhaps too strong for my taste.

They keep the coat closed no matter how much I move or run, probably better than any buttons I've ever tried.

My tailor encased each magnet in a fabric pouch that I presume got stitched on the outside (can't see any stitching from the inside).

In my experience, unless they're only 2mm thick, adding layers won't change the strength of their attraction.
Mine are 4mm thick and they can attract each other just fine if I put my hand between them.

These are some strong magnets, alright. Your tailor did a really good job. Congrats!

Wow, that looks pretty much exactly like how I'd imagine K's pistol would look run through a Steampunk filter.
Same. Can see him rounding up some big brass automatons. It is something nuts like 57 cal.

CHECK IT OUT!!! I thought he would be perfect in this old film, but forgot the name. Found a "20 Best Dystopian Films" and look who showed up side by side!! Freaking cool coincidence.

Hey folks, really appreciate all the efforts of replicating the coat and others in this thread (y)(y)(y)

I know the pants are already identified thanks to SCREENS, but the original Rag&Bone pants were custom-dyed for the movie, right? Or maybe that color is out of stock, I couldn't find the Army Green on their website. All possible alternatives seemed to be either too green or too brown.

Maybe you know some alternative pants of the right color?

P. S. As a little contribution, here are the jumper and pants I picked at Reserved and Collin's recently. Just for daily wearing, not after precisely the same model. While I'm satisfied with the jumper, I'm still not sure about the pants color (adjusted my camera as I could to show their true color)

For the pants you gotta go used. Ebay and poshmark are where I found mine(I have 3 pairs lol...they are comfy)

As far as I’m willing to go, I got olive drab pants from target that have similar chino style pants. Priority wise it goes jacket, sweater, boots, pants. In that order,

Yeah they got some on EBay and Poshmark. The price starts from 3x of what I'd pay for pants in my local shop though (I'm in southern Europe) and that's second hand sometimes with defects :( I'll think about it.
Also the Target website isn't fully loading for me for some reason.
I'd look for alternatives in my local shops but the problem is the color is so indefinite, it looks green, gray and brown on different pictures :D

I found all three pairs each for under $50. Yes they are all used, but I haven't found any defects on them at all. Granted I am in the US so prices might be different...as well as available listings.

They are a pretty standard olive green color. The walmart and target slim fit chinos in olive green look almost the same color wise if you dont wanna go the ebay or poshmark route for rag and bones.

I rock the Target Slim Fit Chinos, sometimes, often times actually chinos have been on the clearance rack. I own most colors of that line, some I've gotten for $7. I used to be a stickler for "must be the screen used brand" but the more I break away from that the more I can focus time and resources on the more iconic pieces that matter.
