FWIW, I think the "fangs" on the shroud looked better in the prior version with rounded corners.

I hate the fangs TBH.. Ill round them up a bit more.
I made a shallow button so it hides when presented like on the book image. It's about the same as the episode 3 copper button, but i added a sorround. It has the thread I use in my greeblies M8x0.75mm so it can be swapped by a red knob, silver, prequel led, etc.

Having an option would be great, I hate the fangs. They seem like they would be extremely uncomfortable when using the lightsaber. The renders are looking better and better!
As someone who owns this lightsaber I can tell you that they are 100% uncomfortable. They totally catch on your fingers while moving the saber around in your hands in fighting motions.

Wish I could recover my pics. I know I have them saved on some device around here. Anyways, Stormpath, aka Master Panda and Luuke were the first two to make it, not sure who was first. There was another less known maker who offered the design as well. Stormpath’s had a variant valve with a purple gem.

Off the top of my head, the emitter faces were slightly different between the two designs, the copper neck section, already mentioned the valve swap option on Stormpath, the semi circle notch on the fangs-Storm’s had it, Luuke’s did not, and the pommels were slightly different. Luuke had made his for his website, so he may have been first to do it. They drew from the same reference material as you. I never read the books either.

I rather like Luuke's interpretation. That smooth curve on the shroud is very pleasant.
