New Voyagers Omni

I'm talking about on the parts customers have received from Shapeways. Here are screengrabs from the images you posted:

The one on the left the features seem kind of soft- are these plated?
Center- Sharp with no texture
Right- Sharp with texture

Are these different options you can pick when ordering the parts?
The image on the left is the lid based on screen shots from the show as I explained earlier.
Here is the link to that model.

The other two images are "Idealized lids" here is the link to that lid

Edit to add, these parts are solid brass, not plated. You can also choose solid silver and gold if you got deep pockets.

I’ve have always wanted a brass Omni for as long as I can remember. Watched all of the episodes when they first aired. I was so hoping they were going to have more seasons because they would’ve been a great history lesson for everybody. Very enjoyable show and it made me want to study History in high school and college.
So, now It’s the middle of 2024 and I see from your web site that everything is out of stock. Are you planning on making more? I’m too appoint in my life where I can afford to buy a brass one. Would be great in my collection.

They were never in stock. Im still working on it. But you can order some of the parts now if you follow the instructions on my website.

I’m one of the prop collectors that only like prop sounds in my props. I don’t want my lightsaber to turn on, have Kenobi recite a few lines, play music and then get to the saber sounds.

Will there be an option for prop sounds only?

The green light is perfect!! Spot on!!
However I’m not so sure of the red light sound pitch. I honestly think the best red light sound from the TV show without music or talking is in the episode Agents of Satan. Where when Bogg and Jeffery are in the jail cell you get a couple of seconds of uninterrupted red light sounds after Jeffrey says, “Whats the date?” If you could use that and clean it up and make a tape loop of it, that would be amazing.

Your feedback has been noted. Thanks for you input.

Our previous demo video had a red light interval of 0.4 seconds. People said it was too fast so I slowed the playback to an interval of 0.5 seconds. At the 6 1/2 minutes mark into the Agents of Satan episode, the red light has an interval of about 0.25-35 seconds. This 20 second segment is one of the better ones, but it still has music, bells, talking, breathing, scuffling, and footsteps. Out of all this, maybe 5 "rings" of the red light are clean enough to be used. It's a possibility, but needs substantial cleanup in Adobe Audition to not have an obvious loop point.

But I also consider that the show comes across your TV's speaker. Meaning that if the sound is coming from a tiny speaker INSIDE the omni, you're never going to get an identical sound as your larger speakers on your TV. You have to consider PHYSICS when considering accuracy.

Is it worth a try? To see how it comes out?

He already did try that file, it was not usable. We created a sound from scratch that is indistinguishable from the sound used on the show because we used the same musical instrument they did. What you hear as a difference in your ear is all the noise and low quality recording of the original sound. No one wants a heavily processed sound effect that has had all the crispness and resonance crushed in a filter when a brand new identical sound can be created.
