New Studio Scale X-Wing Revisited

Hi guys!

We will see what can we do about the price. Maybe we can lower it a little without the armature. It's too expensive to commission just one armature at a time so we would had to leave the armature version for later.
But now for the picture I promised.
Here is the Rebel Pilot. The Goggles will be made apart in orange transparent resin. As soon as we cast the first ones I'll post some more pics.
I am building an R5 and R4-M9 astromech units that will be ready tomorrow.

What armature? Will it be the kind that sticks in the back and allows you to open and close the wings? Or is it just something more like a stand that sticks in the bottom like I see in the pictures?

Guess i must be the only one that this the price is fair. Xwing all ready a pricey build (then again what studio scale isnt) you would end paying alot more then what this kit will cost in the long run.

I personally dont see a problem paying a higher end price if the quality is there. The only time i do have a problem paying a premium is when the product is cheap or quality isnt up to what it should be.

Right or wrong, it's hard not to compare it to other studio scale kits available. The Salzo kit is a whole lot less. I wanted this new kit more to have another--and different--SS kit in my collection. I recognize that the masters for the Salzo are already done and (probably) paid for, but parts of the V3 were not done all that long ago. The recently available pyro kit was also a whole lot cheaper. My memory is fuzzy, but both kits were about $300 or $400, right? From what I see, this new kit "seems" better, but not twice as much. As I asked above, what exactly is the armature? If it's similar to other armatures that stick in the back and connects to the wings and allows you to open and close the wings, then I take it all back. It's totally worth it. But if it's the stand I see in the pics, that's not an armature. I'm not trying to bag on this new thing, I think it's really nice. I just also think the Salzo kits in my stash are really nice. If my funds were unlimited, I'd order 5 of these at this price. I think it's a nice kit, but I can't personally (to myself and to my wife) justify anything close to this price considering what else I could get, if I wanted another SS X that bad.

Actually, my first reaction to this price was, "Wait, and didn't they say it's not complete, that you have to buy material for the cannons? Jeez, what would it cost with those included?"

I was not trying to compare kits its just a a general case. Every kit you mentioned are very good very accurate to the original.

There's something about the proportions of this kit that seem really good to me. Just the right feeling for the wing opening and hull shapes. Nice job!

Seems like we need a title for this kit. I've missed it if there is one. And certainly the makers have full right to do this. But it would be nice to refer to it as something. Everyone knows what the CC kit, and the Salzo V1, V2, and V3 (and I somehow recall a V3.5, but I could be crazy), and the pyro kit. Should this be the "revisited" kit?

I have to say that you guys have done an outstanding job maybe even outdoing the original models used in the movie, but from a business stand point I think you guys are shooting yourself in the foot, $750 thats rent money depending where you live, I'm in N.Y. so I'll need $150 more to the $750 for rent Lol,but seriously do you sell a few at $750 or do you sell alot at a lower price? modeling is probably one of the last hobbies I can afford many have families, mortgages, and kids and would probably get kicked out by their wives if they tell them how much they paid for this kit its probably one of the best garage kits I have seen but you guys will lose many customers just on the price, but I wish you guys luck on this fantastic X-Wing kit.

It's gonna bev$900 plus with the barrels and shipping. That's what I paid for the shuttle kit. I think I only Paid $350 for the v3. Plus shipping of course.

Ditto, and as I've stated elsewhere--if the "armature" is merely the stand I see in the pics, then it hardly factors into the price at all for me. Then you're in direct competition with kits that cost a lot less. Unfortunately for me, a slight modification in the price won't do it for me. $750 is not "just" out of my price range. That being said, if get acceptable orders, than you'll be just fine.
