Limited Run Leia and Chewie ANH brass handcuffs

Hey eethan- you have lots of very happy customers! It's true you can't rush art! Take your time with this run, we all know we will be getting our handcuffs at some point. No one "needs" them at a specific date or time (or shouldn't anyway!) so don't put yourself under time pressure.

I am not sure why you aren't completely sold out of Leia's!! Come on members- buy these Leia cuffs! Chewies are great but they can't be actually worn by anyone but the Leia's can! Buy them up and get eethan completely sold out :)

All Leia's are resized and ready to be machined!

Wow, that's awesome. I just stumbled upon this run. If Leia handcuffs are still available, I'd like to take some.

Hey there,
a bit of an update!
I haven't been as good as updating this project as I usually am. There are over 90 parts to work on, so it's a slow progress, and there were a lot of steps when I felt I just had the same bunch of half rings to show all the time!

anyways, last time, I had reshaped all the half rings for the Leia size, I have since then milled them all to the final size on each end and am now working on milling all the hinges and clasps which is the longest step for both versions.

something to note as well, as you know, I'm using the rw material for this run, to get a realistic natural weathering and also, to mimic exactly how they did the original. But, to try and keep by flaws out of the final objects, each ring was invidually oriented when separated inot a Leia and a Chewie so that big flaws where positioned in a place they would disapear later on.
Then again, when machining them to final size, I choose the "worst" side on each to be where there would be the flat spot machined for the clasps, that is a length of 19mm for Chewie and 14mm for Leia that are machined clean. There are also the halfway spot where half of the rings will be joined together. Trying my best to get a weathered look but without too obvious flaws that might annoy you guys.
for instance here as I noticed it was visible in a photo, this was a "big flaw" in the raw material, and it was oriented so that it would be machined out for the clasps flat spot in the next OP:

I have machined the 3rd step on a couple rings so that I can make a quick mocup of the Leia size so you guys can start having an idea of the different size and overall feel of that version compared to Chewie, the hinges sides are not machined, so the cuffs will be slightly smaller still, but this gives an idea already. Oh, and I realize I didn't orient them properly, my bad!

that's about it, that is 1.5 halves out of 8 to machine for the whole run, so about 18% of the milling done as of today. Still some work to do!
will do my best to update as I go.
cheers all!

Hey there,
another update today, it was a bit of a slow Sunday, checking out May the 4th deals and stuff like this, but still quite a bit of work done :)

started by an important step, I checked all the parts and separated them into the 4 types of parts from now on, those with a small defect identified on the side are marked with a cross and will get milled flat in the center to mate with the other side :)

then I need to be concentrated and carefull, I'm now mating both halves together while machining them, so I get a tight fit for all of them. I need to take one side without a cross and mate it to the other side with a cross, and vice versa!

machining the hinge slot until I get a centered and tight fit with the other half:
