Julien’s Upcoming Hero Phaser & Communicator Auction

Yes and no I have a 23rd century phaser already... It's like some sort of recast as some of it is just different in a weird way (see attached pics)

My 23rd century phaser is the lighter color phaser. I did at a midgrade ten turn & mylar crispy to the phaser in question

Recast of a 23rd century pistol kit, then.

The trigger box and overall inaccurate body shape is a dead-on match to that kit.

Was it?
Point of order: It was the HMS convention phaser which was the basis for the "Trials & Tribble-ations" and AA/DST/Roddenberry.com phasers.
Was it? Okay I was thinking it was based on 23rd Century for some reason. Good to know - thanks all for the correction

Yep. Those early replicas and convention specials are very nostalgic for people. It wasn't until the 90s when the Jein hero showed up for reference, after all.

And, of course, Brad Nelson has a cult following.
I'm only 54, yet I remember going to conventions in the early 80's and everything TOS was super expensive to a teenage kid.... I remember the 23rd century kits a thing of beauty...

The one replica that holds a super soft spot for me is the DST Tricorder.

Ah, you’re still young! What a nice collection, but unfortunately, 5 is a number within sacred geometry that can set up a harmonic which may potentially destroy your tricorders at any time. Send them to me for the interim just to be safe. I’m looking out for your safety.

Speaking of replicas…

The Scratchbuilt Hero by robn1 is sooooo close to the Finney / TMOST

IF it makes you feel any better I have a 3D printed Tricorder that cost me all of about $80 including the mods I made to make it display worth lol

That was one of the first details I looked at when the 2021 forgery came onto the scene. We had the Jein hero as a reference, with its single plant-on rail, and Velcro on the other side. That gave us a basis for the construction technique used on the other heroes.

This second phaser now confirms it.

The problem is that future forgeries may well take this into account. Which is why we need to be vigilant.
What the ph1 rails look like on the other “authentic” hero look like- plant on or the Jlong style rails?

I almost wonder if the Wand Co... didn't copy Robn1's replica... I remember when he did kits. I got a set of his phaser 1 shells back in the day....

robn1 was so methodical and meticulous in his fabrication, following the currently known dimensions and plans, and it’s evident in the resemblance here. His lines are slightly sharper, but he was representing a “newly minted” sidearm. It was, and remains, the ultimate collectible for those fortunate enough to have scored one!

It's possible that Long fabricated the parts, himself. Perhaps we'll find out.

I'd just collapse into a deep puddle of irony if JPL parts were used to restore the actual phaser prop. The very same parts used on the 2021 and Nichols midgrade forgeries.
You're right, JL is entirely capable of manufacturing the parts in his own shop. Unlikely he would use anyone else's.
